Thanks for posting. I just got a HOTD4 cabinet from auction and the monitor was dimming. Your video was really helpful. I actually used an LED Tv from a best buy and used the vga to hdmi converter and it worked perfect.

Glad it helped, definitely made it look cleaner than shoving a smaller lcd

Damn this is pretty as hell, and you are also telling me HotD3 Arcade supports 16:9 natively!? That's pretty dope! And I think this conversion is completely for these games, they are already pretty hi-res, so the LCD actually looks very nice with the 3D models (I don't think either benefits too much from a CRT, to be honest) Do you happen to know which models of monitors you used? I might copy your idea for a thing or two now Cheers from Mexico, this is a nice restoration

For sure HOTD4 if you plug in via DVI it will run in 16:9 which is what I’m running. I’d have to double check which monitors they are but I’ve been using IPS LG monitors with no frame borders to make them fit. Check my Mario Kart LCD conversion video for the model number.

a very clean conversion. I'm still struggling to make my own cabinet mesh well with its lcd replacement. what kind of monitor did you use? it's impressive that a 32" could fit in a cab like that without its bezel making it too wide to fit, unless you decased it
@Arcade_Replay2 жыл бұрын
I trimmed the bezel a good amount and used a lg ips monitor

If you didn't say what you did when you retrofitted your games no one would have known. Good stuff Cebass.

Hey quick question how would I be able to do this for house of dead 1 the original monitor burned out
@Arcade_Replay3 жыл бұрын
no unfortunately, that game must use a CRT monitor since it doesn't have sensors around the monitor like 2 / 3 / 4 did.

Hello! Was It really a simple swap? Plug the vga to the TV. That's it? My crt just failed and I'm a newbie.

Quick question, where did you wire on those additional fans? My HOTD3 seems to be having some heat related issues so I wanna put some more in there. It seems like the majority of power is 120v unless there was a 12v line you spliced into somewhere
@Arcade_Replay2 жыл бұрын
I added a terminal to the power supply 12v source and power both of them just fine

Hello! I just want to ask if is there any chance converting Time Crisis 2 arcade to LCD screen? That projection TV is eating up way too much power (210W each), and also has extreme weight. :D I can't find any light gun replacement that can be used to catch signal from external sensors and send them to the game... Thanks!
@Arcade_Replay2 жыл бұрын
I dont know about time crisis 2 but 3 japan made cabs had a camera just like crisis zone had and those were easier to convert to LCD. 2 and 3 use the same guns so you might want to look into that.
@pycur2 жыл бұрын
@@Arcade_Replay I only found out that Crisis Zone had a camera to catch the aim. But it needs to be supported by software too. Crisis Zone can also work with crt screen, so I have one but without the camera assembly...I also found an LCD lightgun for ps1-2 and others to play that old games nowdays, but it have no ability to replace arcade games guncon. Sinden Light Gun.

I don't speak English but how did you manage to adapt the guns to recognize an LCD screen?
@Arcade_Replay Жыл бұрын
sensors around the screen take care of that.
@ShaunaAyala69 Жыл бұрын
@@Arcade_Replay yes I know about the sensors but how did you make the game detect it or what kind of software is it I have an arcade in my house but I can't do that.

Looks like a really clean conversion. I have a house of the dead 3 and after looking, it does have a ton of bezel. The CRT is still perfect so I'm not gonna get rid of it but it's good to know a high quality conversion can be done.
@Arcade_Replay2 жыл бұрын
thanks! I wish I could of kept the CRT monitors but they both eventually dimmed to very dark pictures even after swapping chassis.

Mixed feelings seeing them like this but glad they're working, I have seen much uglier mod jobs so at least you didn't half-ass it. Also congrats on 1K!

When you say "monitors", are they actual computer monitors, or lcd TVs?
@Arcade_Replay2 жыл бұрын
Computer monitors. I believe they are the very thin trim piece monitors like ips units

@@Arcade_Replay Thank you. Trying to do this exact thing, but don't want to buy a monitor that won't accept the weird VGA signal from the Chihiro. Nice mod!
@Fredpettersen2 жыл бұрын
@@Arcade_Replay Sorry, a few more questions 😁 - What resolution are these monitors? - Do you know the refresh rate? I know the Chihiro has a weird almost-60Hz rate... does the monitor need to match that exactly?

You do realize they have 16:9 ratio wide screen setting? As for cutting them I needed the walk through space at my arcade. Its not a restoration.
