Which thickness of metal disks is needed for correct focusing when protection glass was removed and target spectrum of light expected as shifted in infrared spectrum? Is this thickness is same for 720 and 590 nm filters?

0.4mm. Its almost the same for 720nm or 590nm.

​@@RemusLtthx for answer. If my calculations correct, thickness must be h=d(1-1/n) where d- thickness of the removed glass (1 mm) , n-refractive index which is nearly 1.5, so the thickness of disks is equal to 0.3333. Are you using the same calculations or pick up it experimentally?

@@snowdesert371 the thickness of the removed glass (actually two glasses) is 1,3mm. For this we need to move the sensor to the front by about 0,35 mm. The 1100D sensor sits on 0,3 mm washers. You do not need any disks. Just remove those three washers (or spacers). The above method is for a full spectrum conversion. There are limiters in there so the sensor will sit on them. And by the way, those limiters are leveled so you do not need to level the sensor. You can measure the thickness of those three washers. If they differ you need to compensate then with an additional shim or spacer. If you convert to IR 720 mm just add a spacer of 0,4 mm on the top of those washers that was originally in there.
