@genesung55894 жыл бұрын
Hey Mac, I'm about to do this process and thanks for the great tutorial. Quick question, I noticed there's a decent sized gap between the rear glass and the edge of the Shapeways mount. Do you think this will let in excessive dust into the lens? I wrote Pedro the designer to see if he could make a more specific sized rear mount for the 20, 24 and 28; as the standard mount seems ideal more for the 50mm, 85mm and possibly 135mm.
@genesung55894 жыл бұрын
I posted a question on a vintage lens forum and the response from lens nerds is that the gap / space will NOT make much of a difference for dust since it will either have a cap on or be on the mount. Thanks again for the great tutorial.

Hey Mac :) How are you man? Awesome video, thanks to you I transformed three FD Lenses these last past months (24mm f/2, 35mm f/2 and 50mm f/1,4). Do you know by any chance if it is the same operation with a zoom? The Canon FD 35-105mm f/3,5? Thanks mate!
@MacOlink4 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome! I’m pretty sure the zoom lenses require the “long arm” option on the Shapeways site. I’m not 100% sure if the order of operations is the same to do the conversion though. My best is advice is find a really cheap zoom, maybe one that’s got some fungus/bad condition and use it as a tester to see if it’ll work.
