Kang Sae-byeok (067) • Foreshadowing: Sae-byeok threatens a man with a knife to get her money back from a broker who swindled her. • Death: She later dies in the game when Sang-woo fatally stabs her with a knife. 2. Cho Sang-woo (218) • Foreshadowing: Sang-woo attempts to kill himself in the bathtub by inhaling fumes after being overwhelmed by his financial troubles. • Death: He dies by suicide in the final episode, stabbing himself to let Gi-hun win the game. 3. Ali Abdul (199) • Foreshadowing: Ali is betrayed by his employer, who refuses to pay him for his work. Ali takes the money by force and runs away. • Death: Ali is betrayed again, this time by Sang-woo, who tricks him into losing during the marble game. 4. As an American living in South Korea for over a year, I was culture shocked that stealing just isn't a thing here, so it was funny seeing you guys react to the card and money and account being shown in the open. No one would touch it, I know it sounds crazy but you never have to worry about someone grabbing your stuff. The only two things people do take are umbrellas and bikes lol. I still never let my things out of my sight though, as a native Chicagoan the street smarts are deeply ingrained.

Interesting! Most my family lives around MKE. I'm living in rural Wisconsin and you gotta mark big items to get picked up for trash, or wait till bulk pickup. But out there you can just leave whatever out on the curb and it'll get taken for you pretty fast

The old man made his point at the end without Seong realizing it. Seong at any point could have went down himself to help the guy that was freezing death in the street. But instead, he chose to play along with the bet and just watch for a few hours. And then despite the cops coming, it was already too late. The old man died knowing he lost the bet but proves his point that humanity isn’t worth that you think it is.

Gihun's decision is no surprise because they've set his personality and reason up throughout s1. His mum died while he was playing rich people's fun game, his daughter is abroad in a good family anyway, he was a gambling addict and had a bit of a savior complex.

The creator of the series himself said that he had only written one season. The story he created ended there. However, with the absurd success the series achieved, he was asked to continue. And he said that if he had a good team of writers to help him continue the story, he would do a second season. It took a few years, but he finished the script. And then I think everyone agrees that they need to see Alice in Borderland, right?

Thing is his decision is the best and moraly correct one because how can you live in peace knowing the torment of a cruel homicide is gonna occur again? he lived that hell so he feels like he at least needs to stop it from repeating again. His daughter is okay and she still loves him, and she knows he loves her back too and it won't change

The best decision would be to go to the authorities. He now has the money as evidence not to mention the missing cop. Instead he wants personal revenge. Playing again is not the best option. He will be at the mercy of the VIPs. They can kill him at any time.

Yea but what I don’t understand is what he thought was going to happen when he decided to go back into the game. I agree that his morals are correct but he wants to act all mighty AFTER everyone has already died and he won the money. Why go back into the game when you are aware of the horrible acts that would occur? Maybe he didn’t realize how much it would weight/ affect him? Or maybe he decided to go back subconsciously hoping that he would die since his life was so miserable.

He didn't lose the money, and he felt like he had the moral obligation to avoid another hell that was about to start. He is the only one who survived and in his head the only person who knows about it. Cuz they lie to people by not telling the complete truth, and that is you are not only playing games but dying in the process. This is a homicide. Is horrible. And also how could he live peacefully when he knows the games are starting again with some new victims

i agree with you 100%. what he did was sacrifice. he sacrificed more time with his daughter to save people. also this is a pretty big and dangerous organization. they are so powerful and are following his every move. what he does with the money is being monitored. saving people is the biggest reason for him to go back obviously, but another one is to be free and private. not be watched all the time. not be tied to them through that oney they gave him. not get in trouble with them if they get in trouble. imo. like this isn't just saving people from some death games, this is a very dangerous illegal organization that needs to be taken down.

I have trouble understanding why you want him to go to his daughter. He is being tracked by incredibly violent people who know everything about his life. His daughter is safe and far away, with her mother and a responsible stepfather. If he truly loves her, he'll stay away until his problems are resolved, and his presence isn't a threat to her safety

(DAY 2 OF RECOMMENDING YOU GUYS!) since many people already recommend alice and borderland + all of us are dead, i will recommend k-drama with a similar genre to those two but a more underrated version! 1. the 8 shows - this one is on netflix too so calling it underrated might be a bit much, but it deserves waaay more hype than they have. it is also about playing a dangerous game, but instead of immediate death, they focus on giving psychological torture as the punishment. it focuses on 8 people only who doing shows for unknown viewers to get money, then it becomes more dangerous as time goes by. it's crazy, it's disgusting, but also an amazing story! 2. duty after school - it's about an alien attack, and the country uses their student as an emergency soldier. the story focuses on one class as a whole. they get sudden military training, can't go home, can't meet their parents, and only have their classmates to survive. personally i love these two more than alice in borderland + all of us are dead, but all 4 are good shows anyway so it will be perfect if you guys try all of it! 😆

Thank you for the reaction! I can't believe there will be a second season! It's rare/not common korean TV shows do that. Old man couldn't be detected by the doll in EP.01, in tug and war, he wasn't either handcuffed to the ropes like the others, in the dark game (when they were killing eachothers in the dark), they stopped the game because he, as a VIP, asked/pleaded. And of course, he didn't get shot by the soldier at the marble game. I recommend other koreans shows : The Glory, All Of Us Are Dead.

Everyone is recommending the Glory - which is good - it IS more a drama less action. And it is 16 episodes. I would start that if you have a solid time frame for it. Reason I’m recommending bloodhounds, is it’s shorter but every single episode carried keeps you on edge. It’s also a small break from the super fictional storylines. It’s more real world action/drama. Only 9 eps as well. Timing wise it would be quick, before S2 of squid games
