Brilliant idea! I ordered the D rings and excited to try them on. Some comments below mentioning potential damage to the leather curve part that holds the D ring. How's your bag holding up so far after a year and half? Is it still in good shape? Thank you for sharing the idea!

Up until now all the 4 rings are still attached. I sometimes rotate my strap on the rings.

Yes my bag still in very good shape. I don’t put too much stuff and I don’t use it very often cause I always switch bags depends on my mood. ❤️

I promise it will damage your bag. The leather is not reinforced and the top loops break. Trust me I ruined my speedy 😭

@@nicolestewart Agreed. I wish I had read this prior to ruining my Speedy. It does look fantastic, Miss Caran, you did a great job. I don't mean to criticize, but in my case, it did ruin the leather loops, they are just short of breaking, but I can no longer hold the bag by the handles.

@@saracrume8127 me too. My bag is ruined. I can't use it at all. It's too fragile now and it sits on the shelf collecting dust. I tried this hack when it first came out years ago. When you wear it you don't notice the damage at first. It's only after a while that the loops stitched to the bag which hold the brass parts to the handle almost break. It's a regret I have in life. Ruining a beautiful vintage Louis vuiton like that and knowing I killed it

Hi! I'm not going to pretend that I'm an expert on these things but maybe try to get the 1 inch size. Click the link I have provided then type in "1 inch" it will show you some options. Hope this helps.
