So beautiful. Looks like some fascinating geological events formed that mountain behind the lake!

So happy you were there before all the smoke from the fires! Such a beautiful lake!
@potatothorn3 жыл бұрын
Thanks this was mid July so yeah it was not too smoky, and after the rains the next few days were extra clear we had a great trip. So far smoke is low over all compared to what we have been hit with in the last few years, recently lucked out in yosemite as well but looks like ill have to re route my upcoming motorcycle trip, sierras are in bad shape now.

@@potatothorn stoked you missed the smoke in Yosemite too. Ya the smoke is just crazy right now don't think it would be fun on a bike! I just got back from Washington and the smoke was bad from mt Shasta all the way down the 5 too

sad it is so bad and still early in the season too

That horseback riding must be a wonderful experience. Was also meaning to ask you... when you do your "voice-overs" in your other videos, what microphone system are you using. Sound quality is excellent.
@potatothorn3 жыл бұрын
there is horseback riding and pack stations all over the eastern sierra, really cool stuff i would love to ride a horse out there sometime... // my voice over system is a real pain in the neck// my computer soundcard doesn't like to record from my mic so i got a tascam dr-40 to theoretically also use in other places some times... I record wav files onto a card then transfer files to computer it is a Very high quality recorder for about $150- and i use a shure sm-58 with it which is again around $150 and is an industry standard mic, you see them often see them onstage with big names... the goal is to use the tascam to also record nature sounds out doors but i need a better "dead kitty" to keep out wind noise so i mostly use it at home for voice overs. Wind noise drives me nuts and hard to get the phrasing right the first time so more often than not i cut the audio from the videos and replace it

@@potatothorn Appreciate the feedback! Will look into this. Hopefully my question encouraged you for all the work you are putting into your audio. It's paying off!
