Ahem, Anyway... Thanks to DICE and free weekend for making this video possible! When downloading the game, I thought I was just gonna try out some vehicles and some TOWs too, see if the game is playable. Then I got some clips here, some clips there, then EVEN MORE clips, and was like 'okkkk, I'm definitely making a video'. I started from hovercraft/Tank TOW, then it became boring after one day. And in the helicopter I just had to skyrocket my standards for TOW (called 'Wire-Guided Missile' in-game) with each day and ultimately started running out of different kinds of shots to do, first on helis and then on jets. Like, for my taste there are way too many 3rd-person shots on jets in this video, which is the best kinda shot that is still relatively skilled. I was like "wtf do I do now, I guess I have to start doing barrel rolls on jets as well... Might as well just stop hitting clips, cuz I got enough already, and all what's left is all bullshit luck-reliant stuff." And then on like 6th attempt I got the last clip in this video...
But I'm really happy with the way the game made me emotionally react to hitting clips. I haven't got so many emotions from hitting clips in a dang long time. Like, I'm talking me getting seriously amped up from hitting nearly every shot in this video. When I was doing my latest BF3 TOW videos, I was still reacting a lot, but not nearly as much as here. And I think that's because BF3 had only stationary TOWs with infinite turret turn speed, while for Heli TOW you have to drag the whole body of the heli with limited turn speed (and for BF 2042 helis especially), which makes it infinitely more satisfying when the TOW connects after heavily dragging the heli, like it often happens. And I gotta say, reviewing these clips right after hitting them, the moment of the shot connecting in actual game feels like 10x better than it looks on the recorded video, at least for the one who hits them anyway.
So if I compare BF2042 Heli TOWs to BF4, it's overall very similar, with some differences. Same 5s of travel, but I think it's 600m instead of 750m, which means they are slower; better 3rd-person camera, where you can see directly on top of yourself; then HEAVILY lower heli max turn speed, like at least THREE times lower than in BF4! Which at first I thought was a bad thing, but in the context of hitting TOWs, I truly believe it massively skyrocketed the satisfaction from hitting them. I don't think I was getting such emotions when hitting TOWs in BF4 back in the day. And all things considered, theoretically it should be way harder to hit Heli TOWs in BF2042, but I hit so damn many insane ones in just 4 days after a huge break, while in BF4 I was never nearly as proficient at it after 2k hours clocked, so I have no idea.
At this point, I figure this is the way I'm gonna stick to in terms of making BF montages. If there are TOWs in the new BF game, I'm gonna check them out, consider a video with those and then completely dump the game from that point. Same I did with BF3 TOW: randomly got interested in it, played it for a video and then dumped forever :D. And as for any other stunts, the effort it takes to hit something decent is absolutely not worth it for the amount of emotional feedback I get from it. Which I imagine is gonna be almost nothing anyway, since I understand now more than ever that luck-dependent stuff is just not for me anymore. But TOWs are literally perfect and just crazy fun :D.

Yeah, it's only natural for me, if I am able to bring back the great emotions from hitting clips and being successful at going for them, to make a video out of those. I had the same thing about the expectations because of the trailer, and how Ponylion was also hyping it up, but once again I realize how you should never trust trailers :D. Glad you enjoyed the video! And what do YOU have fun with in this game? Playing like a normal person, or stunting? :D And then can we expect a video from you on the game? Been 4 years since your last montage, crazy.

@@TheShadowHQ More like the normal way of playing, especially I like sniping in this game. Overall, the gunplay feels good to me, apart from lags and bugs. I've tried a lot of stunts and got also some nice clips. The stunts, for example rendezooks, are more inconsistent to perform, but the biggest problem for me are the lags to perform stunts properly. I can't promise you, but I might make a video, but the clips are unfortunately not as good as in my earlier days. xD

I see, that's interesting to know. Going for rendezooks was also really discouraging for me, because of inconsistency that you mention. And I completely understand about the clips being not as good as in earlier days. You see, initially I was actually considering making THREE videos out of my time in the free weekend, because outside of all the clips in this video, I obviously got a lot of other ones. In fact I actually finished editing all three videos. But then I realized how shit and unimpressive the majority of clips were in them :D, so I'm really glad I recollected myself in time there. But in these 3 videos, I wanted to use some BF4 clips that I still got left in the bank from up to 5 years ago, that I found quite impressive and wanted to feature at some point, but I just don't have enough good clips for a proper video, that I hope I will manage to make at some point from randomly collecting clips at whatever time I'm gonna get back to BF.

Saw this in my youtube notifications and looked, then swiped away thinking it was some other channel, then I was like "waiiiiit, is that what I think it is", went to my sub feed and see Convolution 2, the video I used to DEMAND from you a few years ago! Had a massive grin on my face throughout the whole video, these type of shots are exactly why I started playing Battlefield in the first place and seeing this style of stunting again was so refreshing, also good song choice ;)

I can imagine! For me this was the most enjoyable version of TOW than in any BF I've played, I was getting really pumped from hitting all of them. Even tho it seemed very hard to use it at first! And for PTFO gameplay the heli was about as great as in BF4, the only noticeable downside for me was the long unavoidable respawn if you die.

Вот это уже по настоящему круто! Даже не думал что испытаю какие то эмоции от просмотра, но получил совершенно обратное. Птрк мне однозначно нравится больше всего,если сравнивать с другими частями. Это что то между 3-ой и 4-ой, не слишком медленный и не слишком быстрый, да и летает довольно далеко в добавок. Аж чет самому захотелось попробовать. Даж бочки крутить можн, а тут это уже самое главное и у тебя получалось уже от 3 лица хитнуть одну? :D

Хаха, ситуация как и у меня, когда я уже столько всего пересмотрел и сам переделал, что уже не ожидаешь почувствовать что-то от очередного видоса, но бывают такие, которые всё равно впечатляют. Поэтому очень рад, что тебе удалось испытать эмоции! В плане эмоций от непосредственных хитов - однозначно рекомендую!! Если не читал описание, то во втором абзаце я рассказываю, что меня колбасило от почти всех хитов в этом видосе, чего я настолько сильно не испытывал спустя своих первых трюкачьих лет в БФе (т.е. лет 5 назад). Насчёт бочек, я выделенно не тестил, но вроде как даже в самых неадекватных положениях верт падает вниз с ограниченной скоростью, поэтому при таком долго остаёшься на высоте. Я даже не помню, чтобы я хоть раз разбился после всего неадеквата, что я вытворял перед своими ганнерами, хотя точно помню, что бывало близко. Насчёт бочек от 3-го рассказываю в первом абзаце описания. Под конец пробовал их от безысходности, но в итоге не хитанул, и не жалею.

After being absolutely disappointed in the beta and also seeing the public outrage as well, the game at current state actually didn't feel that bad for me at all. That is for someone who focuses on vehicles and, of course, TOWs. Glad to hear the montage was enjoyable for you! Yeah, I was also really surprised how I managed to pick up Heli TOWs so well in a new game and after a big break. After my BF3 video as well, I realized TOWs are the only stunting in BF I care about at this point (while massively enjoying it too), so I'll have to also check those out in new BF games further down the line.

@@d4wny861 I enjoyed flying Attack Heli a lot, that is when PTFOing like a normal person :D. Sure, with its limited turn speed, it's a bit worse than in BF4, but it didn't bother me that much, and as I say in the description, it's only better for the satisfaction of hitting TOWs. Anti-Vehicle rockets (or whatever they are called, Zuni equivalent from BF4) was my go-to, and I found them super effective against everything. If you are flying alone, seat-switching is very effective too, as your heli hovers very steadily.

I have a bunch of leftover clips from BF4, a bit from BF2042, but not enough for the video, so maybe at some point I'll play some BF randomly and get the remaining clips.

Are you binding pitch up and pitch down to keys to do the pulls quicker? Curious I am decent at using bolte TOW against air but can’t seem to make the transition to helo TOWs. It seems when I try to pull the TOW up or down quickly it just laser beams off in the distance away from the target lol

Yeah, I totally have both pitch up and down bound to keyboard (along with the mouse of course) to do max speed pulls when I need. Had it since BF4. Pitch up is on Space, like most people do on jets, and pitch down for me is on E (weapon switching is on mouse wheel). In fact, because BF2042 has super slow max heli turn speed, I also had to bind YAW to keyboard, and I didn't find any better buttons than R and T for this, which is not that comfortable, but no other appropriate keys were really available. And on your 'laser beaming' point, for me this happened for ground TOW only when it was very far (like 7+ seconds of travel or something), and for Heli TOW I remember it was only really happening when I look high up in the sky also at last seconds of its travel, when looking forward or downward it was fine pretty much all the time.

Хахаха, действительно прошёл игру :D. Ведь после этого видоса большого смысла не вижу в неё играть, так как я всё время катаюсь на технике, а в этой игре её нужно ждать слишком долго. Если вдруг захочется сыграть в батлу в целом, пойду в БФ3 или БФ4 на сервера с быстрым респауном, как обычно.

If by 'mechanics of the new game' you are talking about BF2042 Heli TOWs, as it's the theme of this video, then it was very hard and uncomfortable at first, where I was also feeling like I wouldn't be able get used to it, but I still did get used to it in like a day and it got natural afterwards.

Ну у меня были годы опыта и практики с этим в БФ4, поэтому могу порекомендовать тоже самое - просто практиковаться. И со временем у тебя начнёт лучше получаться. А мотивация у тебя уже есть, это полдела :D.

В BF4 учился учился и толком не научился с ПТРК попадать. А в 2042 ПТРК еще и криво летит. Я не знаю какое нужно зрение иметь что бы в пиксель попадать управляя в полете. ТВ ракета за ганера для меня было удовольствие, видно куда ракета летит. Но в 2042 её нет и это плохо.

Возможно у меня было много практики в прошлом, поэтому в новой игре после большого перерыва я очень быстро вернулся в форму и начал попадать даже лучше, чем прежде. А с ТВ действительно жаль, что её в игре нет. Но теоретически с Порталом у игры есть огромный потенциал, и надеюсь они со временем введут всё недостающее в него, а потом все подходящие гаджеты и перки из Портала также в основную игру (очень странно, что они УЖЕ этого не сделали со всем реализованным в Портале).
