Conway Scenic: The Mountaineer

Early in the morning, steam locomotive 7470 switches passenger cars in the North Conway yard. Later, the "Mt. Division Mountaineer" passenger extra departs for a round-trip excursion to Fabyans through scenic Crawford Notch State Park on the rails of the legendary Maine Central Mountain Subdivision.

I am in awe of how far the CSRR has come. I remember the first season in '74 riding in an open 'cattle car' behind the 7470 when they only ran between N. Conway and Conway. Their history is a fascinating one and it's good to know that they'll be preserving steam for ruture generations.

I was there both days, now, by the switch coming into the yard, the golf place (can't remember the name) there were to (snooty) golfers that were going to tee off, and they said that we( the people filming) had better move unless they wanted to get injured, it is kinda pathetic that two adult males can be more immature the a 15 year old.
