Thanks! Your video has helped me repair a Conway Stewart 85 that was found in a garden after 30 years. It was in great condition, just a touch of rust (and a bit of mud) in a few places. I wouldn't have known where to even start without it.

Beautiful pen. I have the lesser model 66 which has no lever for the sac. What it does have is a chrome ring over the area where the sac mounts. Can't order a new sac until I get it off although I have come up with 7.5mm by taking the ring wall thickness off the diameter. Of course there will be old sac so the nib section's sac mount may be a tad smaller than 7.5mm.

Спасибо за видео! Есть у меня сомнения в целесообразности полировки тыльной стороны пера и рабочих частей фидера. Неоднократно встречал на тыльных сторонах перьев перекрестные микроборозды, напоминающий рисунок который даёт хон, полированный эбонит будет более гидрофобным. Все это, по моему мнению, может ухудшить подачу чернил.

Полировать не обязательно, а вымыть, вычистить остатки старых чернил нужно. Ухудшить подачу возможно может, не знаю, но столько ручек починил, проблем не припомню. А далее уже каждый мастер делает как сам считает правильней. Спасибо за комментарий, я не профессионал, поэтому ваши сомнения, мысли интересны.

для просто писчих ручек, с тонкими каналами 100 мкм и зазорами перо-фидер, это всё до лампочки - и даже наоборот, улучшит самопромывание чернил и вынос отложений и наростов - особо фиолетовые чернила или архивные с пигментом для нетипичных рисовальных, макалок, итп спец под густые чернила и тушь - да желательно матировать обратную сторону пера и фидер, алмазной пастой или фиксириванным алмазом - он дает острые глубокие борозды, которые и усиливают удержание для простых, в лучшем случае имеет значение продир алмазом чернильного канала - если он слишком широкий, и очень неглубокий, аки есть потеря капилярного эфекта в перевернутом виде - при узком 100-150 мкм и глубоком, пофиг, даже в жирном полиэтилене для распила пера, всё тоже самое - при широкой разводке жирных рисовальных 100-200 мкм, есть смысл делать продольные борозды алмазом - узким 30-50 мкм уже нет

Wow! Thank you... so many simple, valuable tips and difficult to locate info is within your video! For example, I didn't realize I could use my sac peg gauge also as a section removal block as you demonstrate at 4:00. I found your video by searching after I just opened my 'The Conway Stewart' No.58 Tiger Eye pen to replace the sac and the lever bar had detached from the lever's lugs and I couldn't remember (or deduce) which end of the bar went into the barrel first! Was excited to discover your CS 100 pen had the same problem and immediately I'd found my solution--as well as lots more helpful tips :-)

Yes, CS 100 is a Beauty, that was the pen of my subscriber, this pen was his Dad pen, so I helped him to restore it. I have same pan in my collection(must have), but mine not restored yet ((I need to find a time ))

Hi, the thickness of the copper depends of the feed's channel, I have several sizes. I uses pen peg gauge plate

May I ask, I have looked at a few of your restorations and l see you using a cream for rubber pens, and ebonite feeds, another for plastic and then another for the metal parts.
