This track from Conway NEVER gets old....He not only knocked it out of the park, but as far as I am concerned it's by far the best version of the song I have ever heard. Love how he turned this track into his own. OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!

My dad turned 70 and I played Conway non-stop off the cassette in my car until the battery died. Dad passed away with cancer soon later. He also liked Johnny Horton and Tennessee Ernest Ford Gospel.
@tombeyer3752 жыл бұрын
My father really liked Conway also and played it for all of us kids, and of course the love songs for our dear Mother. Dad lost the battle to multiple myeloma leukemia back in 1989, but left the love of music in all our hearts.

After some extensive research.....I found that this album is indeed the original album. I had a chance to buy this album at a thrift store but I declined. Unfortunately, the album was in poor condition. I am sure I will locate a better copy somewhere.

I think EVERYONE who covered a Merle Haggard song sang it better than he did, ESPECIALLY Conway Twitty; I don't like Haggard's voice(Ditto for Johnny Cash; Buck Owens, and George Jones, although there are a few Jones song I like because the lyrics, tunes, and orchestrations overcame his lack of a gorgeous singing voice. And his duets with Gene Pitney were superb, because of the presence of Gene Pitney!
