Coobra Turbo Yeast 48 Extreme, any good?

I have had a few people ask for my thoughts on the Coobra Turbo Yeast. I have never tried it before, so thought why not give it a try.
Are all Turbo yeasts the same? Is Coobra as good as Still Spirits Turbo Yeasts? Here we find out.
If you want to make vodka or a neutral spirit at home, then you need to use either a Turbo Yeast, or make your own sugar wash like a Kale or Tomato Paste Wash. Turbos produce a little more spirit, but are more expensive and many people hate them as they can give nasty wet newspaper taste. Does Coobra have the same issue?

So much more great information than just the subject itself here, thank you! Just stripped my first 25l tpw with my T500 today, got another tomorrow then spirit run on Sunday. I’m new to the hobby and am thinking that I should look into a filtration setup, not keen on the smell that carries over from the wash. Subscribed and hoping that you’ve made a video about the modifications to the column,

Hi @martink9785 , thank you for your comment. If you are getting a smell or possibly taste from your wash after you distil it, you may want to take some cuts as you may be getting heads and tails in there. While you have less need to take tight cuts with a neutral spirit (vodka) it can be helpful. As to filtration, I run my neutral sprit through a carbon filter system that I built. I don't have a video on carbon filtering, but I do want to make one.

Hello, thanks for sharing, you have nice equipment 😁 , can i ask something, there is no different between with airlock or without it right? Because the manufacturer said ATTENTION! Do not use airlock. Im a little bit confused 🤔

Hi @iplayhertz. The reason why some Turbo Yeast manufacturers say not to use an airlock is because their yeast is so fast as producing CO2. The sheer volume of gas produced will push most (if not all) of the water in the airlock out the end. This then leaves you with an airlock with no water inside it. This will not only create a mess, but could blow the top off some airlocks, resulting in possible contamination.
