Collards Christie, I am from Long Island NY and we never ate collards. When Keith's parents were with us we went to a Diner in Sumter SC and I had collards then. I guess you have to get use to eating them. Keith's Mom kept watching me. I behaved said nothing!! Keith's Mom didn't care for me being a "Yankee" from NY. A big cultural difference. Plus the Civil War. My family on both sides weren't here in the States back then. They are from Europe. Keith's ancestors came from England in the late 16000s into Virginia. They then migrated to Georgia in the early 1700s. They've been in Athens since then. Joan
