Troy Landry of The History Channel’s Swamp People is the patriarch of one such family that has been living in and off of the swamps for generations. Troy and his son, Jacob, happen to be experts in the time-honored art of the crawfish boil, and in this Mercury Cook Your Catch video, they’ll show you how a true Cajun prepares a boiled crawfish spread for a family get together.

He isn´t an actor or something like that. He is a completely normal person with a great taste for good food and good preparation. that's what people want to see ! and not like in other videos like people trying to represent something that they are not. Good Job Mercury !

I like how these guys say "This is how our family does it, every family does it differently", instead of saying "this is the only right way".

I love going to Jacob’s crawfish place out here in Port Vincent, LA. Their crawfish is by far the best I’ve ever eaten.

Thanks for the great feedback and recommendation for all! The video does a great job of showing the process, and you can almost smell and taste the crawfish. 🤤

Funny, We have large boils in Texas, brought our cooker to my In-Laws in Gonzales for a boil. My In-laws sent us for crawfish in Port Vincent. I turned around to open the tailgate, and Jacob was standing there with the crawfish! We had no idea. Great Crawfish there too!

The first time my wife and I went down to Louisiana (from Canada) to visit her good friend, her native Louisiana boyfriend showed us how he ate crawdads. He used the 'do it fast and messy' (pinch, twist and suck) technique. He could eat ten to my one. Well, it took a while but I gradually caught up... almost. I figure I was getting in maybe seven to his ten. Not bad for a Canuck!!
