1988 Williams CYCLONE pinball machine

Here for your viewing pleasure today we have a 1988 Williams Cyclone pinball machine in action.
Yes, I know the jackpot lights in the video aren't working. I realized this after the video was shot. A cold solder joint on the jackpot lamp board was the issue. And now you know.
Of the three roller coaster themed machines from the Barry Oursler/Python Anghelo team, I'd venture to say that Cyclone is the best. It has fun and satisfying shots with good flow and neat gimmicks. The skill shot is fun. The ferris wheel is obviously a blast and doesn't slow the game down too much. The two large ramps are great fun to hit and both return the ball to the right flipper. Hitting the right ramp three times awards the jackpot. Generally a fun game from Williams on the superb System 11 hardware system. The only complaint from most people is that it lacks multiball at a time when multiball was well-established.

I worked at a Sears department store in the mall in the 80s as a teenager when the manager wasn’t there my friend and I would clock in go to the arcade and play this game for hours! we would rack up so many free games. There would still be some left the next day.😃 the perfect table for gameplay just enough going on not to overwhelm you

I played this game a long time ago on a real beat up machine, the ferris wheel toy didn't work at all on it. Still thought it was fun from what I could do on it lol

Great classic table, one of Williams' best. My only major complaint is that the score display needed an extra digit or the points that can be earned needed to be reduced by a factor of 10, it's way too easy to reach 9,999,999 points and roll over the display and the table doesn't give any indication that you've surpassed that score.

You're a far better player than I am. I've never seen anyone roll Cyclone, even if they get the max jackpot.

You always have a great Ball 1. You should just set number of balls to 1.... no point playing after ball 1 drains hehe!
