my favorite soil is clay, because i play the game very actively and half my garden is bakers wheat and half the corn thing for +2% cpc and that helps me basically double my cpc :v

Clay is definitely my favorite too, and I actually play very passively so I just have a full farm of Drowsyferns and then the clay helps me to need as little maintenance as possible!

I'm not positive it matters, but I usually see them placed diagonally so that's what I tend to go for!

Generally yes, the majority of plants only have 2 parents so you'd want to plant one of each, which leaves you 2 spots to get mutations!

What do you do if the gardening screen is just black, my farms are level one but it got no mini game opening button by it. The screens are also black for banks, temples, and wizard towers. I am playing on Mac.

I'm not sure actually, I wasn't aware of any problems with the in browser version on Mac... maybe submit a bug report to Orteil if refreshing doesn't fix it?

If you're referring to Baker's wheat that would be normal, since the crop gives you +1% CpS, once it's removed your CpS would go back down :)

What can't you upgrade? And once you have 1 billion total cookies baked, you start generating sugar lumps which you can see right below the Stats button, they take around 24 hours to grow per lump!

When you first mentioned that you wanted to make a series on the garden I thought I wouldn't do anything with the mini game until you made it but I looked into it and now I basically got almost every seed. I just got the final plant today which is the Juicy Queenbeet and I wanted to ask you if you know a good way to grow it quickly? I now have 8 Elderworts around it so the aging multiplier is 119%, but I think it's going to go down when the plant reaches the sprout stage, since plants surrounding it are 20% less efficient (2% now, but will go up to 5% in the next stage). I suppose you already unlocked it in your main save so what strategy did you use? Just AFK over night?

Sorry it took so long to get started on these videos, glad you were still able to get into the garden content though! What I did personally was just grew a 5x5 block of Queenbeets, with 4 empty plots inside so I have 4 valid Juicy Queenbeet spots, and just hope that I got lucky enough to get one! Hope that helps, it can take a while but hopefully luck is on your side!

This particular save I created and edited to have what I need to show off features of the garden, but on my actual save I have every building to level 10 and 351 extra lumps :) Definitely one of the perks of playing for as long as I have!

If you want max efficiency, first ascension around 440 chips is the way to go since you can then buy a LOT of the really good early upgrades. If that's too daunting though you can always go for it earlier and go for more rapid-fire ascensions, it's really up to your personal preference :)

if an empty plot has at least 2 crops in the 8 adjacent spaces, then there's a chance that plot will grow a new crop depending on which ones are nearby!

Meddleweed? Easiest way to obtain it is just leave your garden empty for a while and they will start spawning on their own!
