Your potassium wouldn't get that low from vomiting, unless you had been vomiting for weeks. Also, potassium is what basically controls your muscles and since your heart is a muscle it can be greatly affected by low potassium. Your heart can get into an irregular rhythm which can be very serious. I would have listened to the professional and stayed in the hospital because low potassium can become deadly. Maybe follow up with your family doctor to get your potassium checked out to be on the safe side. Also, eating foods high in potassium can possibly bring up your potassium a bit but usually when you have such low potassium you need an IV transfusion. Be careful, your health is not something to take lightly. I know being in the hospital sucks and no one wants to be there but sometimes its what is best for you. Stay safe :)

I was thinking the same thing, bulimia. Also, she talks about her low potassium episode like it's a normal everyday thing for her, and her diagnosis, like, she knows she can fix her condition simply by not making herself throw up anymore. But on the other hand, in her last video she did say she was going through one of her bouts of depression and hadn't eaten for days. 🤔

SO glad you're okay, but feel so bothered by the whole incident and you being so touched and shocked that your mom was present during this and you not taking doctors advice... Why would your mom even be a little okay with you not only driving, but going home by yourself when you're so ill?

Low potassium is no joke, please see a dr about it. My friend had to have a potassium in an IV on 3 different occasions to get hers up. She also ate foods high in potassium. I’m glad you are feeling better!! Thank goodness for your mom. I’m so happy you two are closer than when you first started your KZbin channel.

Wow. A K+ of 1.5 is something I've never seen. I've treated patients with high potassium but seldom low. Potassium will be low with vomiting, but that'd be over days/weeks. The food you vomited would not have been metabolized over a few hours. What likely happened is your low potassium led to muscle weakness, your heart being the most important muscle became bradycardic (slow heart rate). The vomiting is a vagal maneuver which slows your heart rate down more. Your heart was pumping too slow to meet the demands of your body which is why you were seeing spots and passed out. If the physician suspected seizure, it will have been reported to the DMV and your license will be revoked for at least one year. I would suggest follow up EKGs to make sure you aren't in any dysthymias and an EEG to determine if you have seizure activity or not. The doc wanted an MRI was because of your concussion.

So glad you’re feeling better I’ve had low potassium before because I’m a weight loss patient. And feeling weak and dizzy and even some parts of my body going numb it was scary . But getting my blood work done my doc gave me a months supply of potassium to take I feel a lot better . I hope you’re feeling better 🥰

This kind of got to me. When I was depressed I couldn't really eat at all and I lost a lot of weight. Around this point in time I would faint A LOT, and it played out exactly like the first part you described (seeing spots, shaking, loss of memory), minus the puking. It's a scary experience.
