My mom and i had the worst relationship well growing up, I've always thought she hated me, we would never get along! Abd even worst she took my son from me 6yrs ago, I've had a really bad drinking problem. The drinking made me numb from my childhood and things I've gone through in life. An apology can make things soo much better for u and ur mom, you need closure! I never thought I would hear the words I'm sorry come out of my mom's mouth. But when she did I felt so much better because I knew she knew all the BS I went through as a child that she could have prevented, but we all have to move on that's what made me a better person, and a better mother to my children. People make mistakes, but it's a matter of learning from them! Love you Lexie!💜

I’m the exact same way.. I end up forgiving people who I know will never ever apologize. Everyone always told me the same to cut people off and I feel like in some ways it can help but other times cutting someone off doesn’t give you closure. And I was the same way with my dad.. he never put in effort to see me as a kid..oh well life goes on. I understand you so much! I've had to cut off my mom because she is just so toxic and she has alcoholism issues. The only reason I began interacting with her again was because of my siblings and my kids who she begged me to see. If it weren't for them I would completely cut her off for good. It's such a complex relationship because I love her because she is my mom but I also dislike a lot of her personality and the things she has put us through. If the situation between you and your mom ever comes to where you are better off mentally without her then cutting her off is the best choice. Eventually one gets tired of being the only one trying to make the relationship work but if you feel you really need her then I really do hope things start working out. Anywho I hope your mom comes to realize you are her blood and a very significant part of her. You are such an awesome person that she should begin to cherish more. Blessings sent out to you Lexi! What my therapist told me was to try to have a conversation about how you feel and about what you said that she never calls. Also that you feel bad because she never apologised. Hey girl, I think you did the right thing by making the first move to go see your mum and talk to her about what’s bothering you. I’m glad she spoke to you and unfortunately sometimes people just aren’t the type to apologise no matter wether it’s their fault or not. I know a few people like that. If it was someone else, I’d say don’t associate with them, but it’s your mother, so I’d say, keep her close because no matter what happens, she loves you and you love her.
