I love that Golden Cheese Cookie is fully aware, even confident, of what’s she doing, with the whole virtual-kingdom creating and friends resurrecting thing. It’s a better narrative than “Oh no! I must face the truth and watch my fakepires destroyed!” She is not blindsided by grief or anger, it’s greed. Greed to keep everything that glitters (physically and emotionally) to her and keep them directly under her control. It’s ignorance but not because she dismissed the truth, heck she despise it so much that she create a digital heaven for her people. Be that as it may, I still think the root of her greed is affection tho. In a way, this is the best solution for her. I think it’s cool that we have an Ancient that not entirely kind or selfless. (Well you can say that to Dark Cacao, but the entire kingdom is as edgy as the 80’s itself) I think what Episode 18 will do is to challenge her godhood complex once Dark Enchantress Cookie told her that she met the witches, their creator. I think DE will play a role in that episode since this is the last ancient kingdom. Also based her last appearance in the Crème republic, her forces are gathered in Beast-Yeast. Now this is where the crack theory comes out so yeast is a important component for making breads, pastries and cheese. Now the desert we’re in is called Parmesan Desert. Based on the name, Beast-Yeast might be close to where we are. Then again, why would she attack a practically empty kingdom? Maybe she wants to snatch a free soul jam lying around covered in cobwebs idk. Anyways I think it’s cool to have the Ancient be antagonistic for once rather than the usual DE squad or regional beasts. Pure Vanilla better use a strong scented letter for her if he wants her attention. Edit for mistake: Episode 17 instead of 18

There's a certain horror to the idea of the world around you crumbling into digital nothingness right in front of you. The empty spaces, the uncertainty if you'd be trapped there forever, glitching visuals giving off an uncanny valley feel. It's like you found yourself in a beta version of a Sega Genesis game and then got stuck in a level full of garbage data and blank spaces staring right at you. I love beta versions of games, though the atmosphere in the unfinished parts of them can be a bit unsettling to me at times. I never thought CRK would even go there, let alone make the Golden Cheese Kingdom a sort of cyberpunk setting. I'm impressed. The more unsettling elements are most certainly noticable in the library portion where you meet lil Fettuccine Cookie. Like I said, world crumbling into 1's and 0's and a black void, and the music and voice acting really sells how insane of a situation it is. Especially Black Raisin's voice acting, she sounded genuinely terrified. I can't help but think there's something sad about Fettuccine Cookie being in that virtual world. They're basically a helpless scared little kid from the sounds of it, that last cry from them legit makes me want to give them a hug. Wonder if we'll find out more about them in the next chapter. And then there's the fact the inhabitants of the virtual kingdom are all spirits of the original residents and that they're all essentially dead and mummified, that Golden Cheese's kingdom was destroyed and she wanted to remake it digitally, essentially in VR, because she felt she lost everything and now wants to stay in the past. Adds a bit of tragedy to this story.

I don't know about this but since Cookie Run franchise was notorious for creating original lore at each new game instalments (Ovenbreak focusing on Gingerbrave journey walking through Earthbread hoping Dark Echantress Cookie doesn't creating masscares then along came Longan Dragon Cookie, Kingdom having Ancient Cookies relevant to the story and Dark Enchantress Cookie was an wordwide threat, and now there's the coming soon VR game where apparently Gingerbrave was an reincarnation of the firstest Cookie who escape from the Oven), however since somehow Ancient Cookies was a thing in the entire Cookie Run franchise it's look like Golden Cheese Kingdom was highly doomed by canon at Ovenbreak (doesn't help that Ancient Cookie wasn't relevant to that story even) while Cheesecake Cookie and Rougefort Cookie were act like legacy characters to the only cheese themed or flavored Cookie at that timeline. And oh yeah, apparently at Ovenbreak there's a character who was literally a sentient regular cheese named Curator Emmental Cheese
