Excellent - 'Elga' looks beautiful! I can tell you're still getting your head round it all. Give it time - will probably end up being one of the best things you've done! We have similar plans as we're now at an age where we are starting to lose parents, have aches and pains, and generally realising just how short life is - ENJOY the three of you!

Looks like the Elgrand has those window covers / flanges on the front sides like the Hilux. Spiders love to build webs in there (& the mirrors), you’ll go down the motorway & think that’s got rid of it, park up, come back & the buggers there again, lol! Series 3 , nice, :) You can get a CD that will convert most of the menus of a Series 3 into English if that has not been done at the conversion people.. Make sure the box next to the back wheel has been properly undercoated (As the rest should be). The air con pipes for the back go through it and they corrode quite badly in the UK due to the crud and salt on our roads. As far as I know, there are no replacement parts, so they have to be blanked off. Join the Elgrand Owner's Forum for help too. PS. Most likely your odometer will be showing kilometres travelled and, unless your speedo has been converted, you will need a GPS speedo for MPH. Elgrands prefer 97 RON, make sure you either use very high quality petrol or add decent additives to counteract the ethanol in petrol.

Thanks for the comment, it’s already been through both the menu conversions and the speedo conversion so that’s good. I also bought a digital Speedo plus a tyre pressure monitor too now.

Its a series 3 e51, so you cant change the head unit for apple carplay, as there is no replacement surround available like there is for the series 1 or 2. If you have the aux inputs in the rear, you can get various media boxes that will allow you then to use apple carplay etc. Makes sure the lpg conversion has the self lubricating system on it. Hopefully it has been decatted aswell. Im on my 2nd elgrand, best vehicle arround as long as you dont take the mpg into consideration.

The LPG is a game changer. Never had to fill up with petrol since the first day we bought the van. She is now for sale though sadly as we can’t seem to find the time to use her as a camper.

interesting as i been watching videos of these... not sure how i feel about 4x4 related all drive... are in kmh dash? .. its a tidy conversion although i been looking at it for putting arcade machine in and maybe a space to sleep/do some light soldering etc. Can u go flat? the videos i seen of the multiseats is the two hide at the back but uts is different. Now i not follow LPG for ages so thats caught my eye.... looks good

Can be switched between 2 and 4 wheel drive. Dash Speedo has been converted to MPH although the digital total miles will always stay as KM. The seats are rock n roll so they go flat.

The car does have a drop down tv/dvd already but it’s a bit useless as it runs only when car engine is running. I guess we could add a tv easily enough for when we are plugged in at a site. Not explored solar yet but might do in the future. I plan further videos to show you more about the van and its features.

10/10 vid for me & definitely want to know more please👍 Actually been looking at the same company & model type as an alternative to my VW love affair 😂🥰 I’ve done the Japanese import sports car before & certainly wasn’t disappointed with the reliability & maintenance costs, however running a campervan as an everyday pony is a different unicorn to ride. My current line up is Transporter, Bongo, then what you’ve got. I’ve a large doggy that I have to accommodate, (a secure crate in the back for transit works best for a large dog) but don’t really want to go down the pop up route as concerned about the operation & maintenance of a pop up. So interested in your thoughts on your choice 👍

I wouldn’t bother with a bongo personally, small and notoriously unreliable, I did consider but heard a lot of negatives. I think the pop top is must really so you don’t have to crouch when using it in the back, lets a lot of light and air in too.

Yes they import them, gut them and build brand new camper conversions and pop tops, plus LPG conversion if you want it.

Hi, I just looked at an Elgrand pop top camper today 24,500 miles a 2010. Lovely conversion. They are asking £35,995 for it. Was yours £20,500 all in, with the conversion, pop top included? If so, seems a huge difference 🤔 something for me to think about. Thank you

What’s the storage space like ?

The camper build is refined for storage so there are storage areas all over the van. But at the end of the day it’s an MPV conversion so storage is always gonna be limited. Should be more than enough for what we need. I’ll try and show in a future video.

Oh nice one congrats. Ye I think cos essentially it can be converted back to 8 seater that it stays as that. Check with Leon, he explained it. We just have to get the fuel type changed to dual fuel on our V5. Insurance is both a bit of a surprise and a nightmare, don’t bother using comparison sites as they just don’t fit. Some companies quoted me around £1k and I was starting to get worried. I ended up with Caravan Guard at around 400 quid, you need to phone up and go through quotes with a person.
