I grew blue and purple potatoes a few years back. My mother made massed potatoes out of purple and blue potatoes, it felt like I was eating Play-Dow.😂 Many of the colored potatoes are originally from higher altitude growth locations. The colored species of potatoes were exposed to higher levels UV light because of the high altitude. I believe that is part of what caused their color change originally as a species of potatoes also the minerals in the mountain soils. I like them for my fried potatoes I think they hold up better while cooking, plus it's my understanding they are a little healthier then the base potato.

Agreed on the nutrition! Fascinating stuff about the origins DCs

I am terrible at cooking potatoes in general. I've got mashed down but beyond that I can never get the texture right. 😂

Thank you for sharing and i have heard of those blue potatoes before and i think you can buy those here in Sweden as well but not in every store/supermarket. I have subscribed to you as well. I got here from the Hillbilly Chicken Ranch´s livestream.

RIGHT! How, just how? Like picking Blue crabs into a bowl, what?

That is expensive salt right
@crookedpeach3 ай бұрын
Yes it costs more ($10-12 for 26oz bag, $5 fir a shaker) than regular table salt but regular iodized table salt is absolutely toxic, we don't use a lot it's got a beautiful powerful punch of like a real salt flavor and it has minerals in it and so it's it's not just a seasoning it is for my health
