I only make hard boiled eggs in the Instant Pot now because they peel so easily!!! They practically pop out of the shell!! Be sure to put only 1 cup of water in the bottom of IP pot, put however many eggs you want in a steamer basket, and then I set it for 5m at high pressure with a quick release and immediately put the eggs into an ice bath. After a few minutes of cooling, they can be peeled (or the hard boiled eggs can be refrigerated and peeled when needed. Either way they peel great!

@monikanf1184 I have a little metal basket that I put in the bottom of the pot. It has little feet to hold it up. I put my eggs in the basket. Then I add 1 cup of water. That's all you need to get it up to pressure. So water stays below the basket. So the eggs aren't submerged in water.

Easy easy peel fresh hard boiled eggs with the instant pot. It truly was a game changer for me with using my chickens eggs this way. Pressure cook 5 min, natural release 5 min, ice bath 5 min. Then peel immediately. The shells slip right off.
@deborahnickloy57473 ай бұрын
Yes! I was gonna say the same thing!! It's like a layer of water is pressured in-between the cooked egg and the peel. Peeling right away is important or the water gets reabsorbed and it doesn't peel very easy anymore.

I love homemade meringue. You don't see many people make it these days like they did years ago.. everyone just uses cool whip now, or most recipes call for it i guess 🤷♀️ I cook alot but i don't really bake, just not my forte loll😄 But growing up my ole granny lived across the street from my mom & I. She passed in 1979 at 94yrs old.. she was been in 1885. She had running water in he big old house, but no bathroom. There was A washroom with a sink & this little clawfoot tub.. but she still had an outhouse, and a chamber pot by her big old poofy bed. She had A big fireplace in the living room with a big old Victorian couch you literally sank into & another fireplace in the dining room that was big enough i could stand in it! And an old handmade dining table that seated 8-10 people. Really super tall ceilings made of dark bead board. Her old screen door squeaked & slammed.. and this huge front porch with swings at both ends. Lots of Hydrangeas at both ends and down the front with four humongous pecan trees in the front yard. She had plums & blackberries, she would bring bowls of them to me. And sweet potatoes.. she made a sweet potatoe pie from scratch that would melt in your mouth & covered with that big mountain of homemade meringue! She made the best blackberry pies & pecan pies from scratch & would bring them over hot out of the oven!🥧 Oh my i sure do miss her baking🤤 Lol my brother & I would fight over her pies😄 Well.. sorry i went down memory lane on my ole granny's home & baking but its just the best memories so i just wanted to share! You can kind of see that her era would do alot of baking from scratch😉 Your pot pies & galettes look amazing! Enjoyed the video & thanks sharing more good recipes!😊

I make nearly a quart at a time and it stays good for a long time....if it gets forgotten in the back of the fridge for a couple of weeks, it's still good to go. Although it doesn't usually stay around that long because my husband puts it on everything!

I believe in the video about it, she mentions using whey from the top of yogurt...maybe? It's been a while since I watched it. I just add a couple tablespoons of my homemade plain kombucha to the jar before I blend everything. Then you let it sit out on the counter overnight to ferment, then it goes in the refrigerator. :)

Always super boiling water for eggs. Yep. Some crack. But not usually a huge issue for me. I’m usually making egg salad anyway and so it doesn’t matter. They peel because the heat causes the inner lining to unstick from the shell.
