Cooking hot plate (coil): WHAT IT IS; and how to fix: WE GOT IT WORKING.

I am trying to learn the parts of the simple hot plate, because the hot plate on my coffee maker has stopped working. It electronically turns on and off, and a light indicates when it is on. Now, it indicates that it it is on, when it is not. I am trying discover the cause.

Which brand and model number is your coffee maker? For now if it shows light indicating that it is on then I will suspect the thermal fuse or heating element depending on the age of the device.

It is a Keurig Duo, about four years old. I opened the bottom to look at the hot plate assembly, loosened a few screws to examine parts numbers, reassembled it, and it began to work. It immediately went lukewarm, though, and stopped working again.

This thing can make cooling hard. That auto switch off is so annoying

@@opiozlaboratory what's the remedy of the auto switch off? It over heats if the switch is disconnected.
