Try rolling items when you pack. They don’t wrinkle as much and take less space. I’ve become a roller when I travel.😊🇨🇦

What I do to avoid "onion tears" I place the onion in the freezer for about 10 no more than 12 minutes. Do not freeze. Take them out and you should be able to cut the onion without the tears. Love your videos.

Love your videos! Can I give you a tip about onions? I'm allergic to the juice and fumes of onions and cannot eat raw onions at all, but can eat them if they are cooked well enough. I tried every thinig I have ever heard of ways to keep from tearing up while chopping/slicing them. None of them worked! One day, I accidentally put an onion in the freezer while I was in a hurry to leave for an appointment. I just put the grocery bag full of frozen items in the freezer until I had more time to organize them, etc. That evening, I started looking for the onion to use in a recipe. I had ciouldn't find it, so I thought that it may have been in the bag with the frozen items. Sure enough, it was. I took the onion out and it was frozen solid. I let it thaw out a bit, maybe 10-15 minutes. By that time I had to get dinner started, so I sliced it in half and started chopping it up. After I was done, I realized that my eyes were not burning or watering at all. It was amazing! So now, I put my onions in the freezer about 20 minutes before I need them. I don't put them in there until I know I'm going to use them. I have learned that you do not have to freeze them solid for this to work. They need to be frozen enough to solidify the juice. That's what keeps the fumes from escaping and attacking our eyes. Once in awhile I will get a very strong onion or a large one that may require a few more minutes in the freezer, but this has helped me so much. I hope you will give this a try and that it will help you. Praying safe travels for you and your sweet baby, Have a great time! 💙

PUT THE ONIONS IN THE FRIDGE!! they won't make you cry because being cold "solidifies" the onion oils so they don't splatter and make you cry.

How do you get smells/fragrances out of the used clothing? I love thrifted clothes but don’t buy them anymore because I can’t get the previous owner’s laundry smells or perfume smells out of the clothes. I’ve tried baking soda, vinegar, airing out in the sun, etc. Nothing helps and I’m super sensitive to smells so I just don’t bother anymore.

I just read that aluminum pans and foil are bad for your food to sit in……especially acid foods……now I just read that so someone may have more to say for yeah than nay. I put parchment paper as a barrier between food and foil….but that’s me your kitchen your technique. Even today if I’m going to be gone at dinner time something is made in instant pot or prepped dish for hubby when he comes home…..been making frozen pizzas and taco casseroles for back up…great meal….

For reals, try feeding your bone leftovers from your broth, to your dog🤗!(or give to a friend's dog). Zero waste then. Since all the bones become mush when you pressure cook them, they become 100% safe for dogs! We do this for our dog and she loves it, she's only 25 pounds, no issues!. :)

Jesus I am such a failure of a mom. I have 1 child who's 8 months old & I'm so tired & wiped out I can't get anything important accomplished. I watch these videos of girls who are likely half my age with a ton of kids that do everything from scratch & have a farm & garden & on & on...they never fail to get everything done & are all super moms. Dear God it's got to be their age. Try this at 42, I promise your energy level will be different but I hope it won't.
@The_Wentz_Homestead
@The_Wentz_Homestead 9 ай бұрын
Pretty sure her and Lisa are both mid to upper 30s, so they definitely aren’t half your age. Age doesn’t have much to do with it, it’s prioritizing. I’m only 25 with 4 kids and it’s exhausting some days, but you just have to decide what’s more important to you. If making food from scratch and doing farm life is important, then you do what you can to make it work. It’s okay if you don’t want that to be your top priority, and that doesn’t make you a bad mom or any of these women super moms, but like everything it’s where you put your efforts. Also, I’m not sure about Laura, but Lisa has been very open about how she has a lot more help than most women with her husband being home. Quite a few of the homemaking moms on KZbin have said they have housekeepers that come every now and then as well. You can’t compare your life to people online, you have to make yours work for you! And the adjustment of motherhood is very hard with the first baby, it’s a new experience and you have to get used to this new lifestyle. Most of us with multiple of kids have established routines and expectations, it’s been our life for a while! So don’t write yourself off yet, give yourself some grace!
