Maybe do this same concept, but with different regions of America? Pennsylvania coal miners, Alaska bushman, Texas bbq, etc.

Mandy ,they look great. I'm from England and are pastys are very similar to those. Ours are called cornish pastys and I think they originated in Cornwall in 1200 . Look forward to seeing your next meals. Keep up the good work 👏

I've been to Ireland and most of their meals were rustic. This food today is definitely something u would see there. I thought Ireland was the country that reminded me of the good south in USA. Ireland hospitality and just great good natured people with those green rolling hills was my favorite place in Europe. Although Greece had the best food.

Thank you Mandy! for getting our summer off to a fabulous start with Ireland. I will try this recipe when you don’t have enough meat left to make a meal. Have you thought about hosting a “painting party” for everyone to help redo your kitchen?!!!! We are cheering you on for your subscriber goal🎉

I think it's meant to be said like passed-ies. Saying paste-ies is like the nip covers. Whatever they are they do look really good though!

Certainly not Irish but I’m thinking these would be good with a chicken Parmesan filling…or maybe sausage and peppers….or even maybe taco ingredients….the combinations are endless!….yum! Thanks for the inspiration!

Those look very similar to a dish from Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Here they are pronounced "pasty" with a short 'a' sound like in "bat". Traditional ones here have rutabaga in them. Most of the UP was settled by Finnish people who also worked in the mines. The great debate is to use gravy or ketchup.

I thought the same…was just like a Hot Pocket! I think you could have made more from your dough if had made rectangular or cut the dough in smaller portions by using a lid of some kind for a guideline. Then place on a wax paper lined baking sheet and freeze individually. Then you can place them in a freezer bag for whenever you want or need one. I am like one of the other viewers…resembles empanadas, only empanadas have a bit more seasoning and different meat texture. They are really good! I thought for sure you were going to show how to make corned beef and cabbage…then turn the meat into corned beef sandwiches. What most people think of when asked about Irish food. Though I am sure there are a lot of dishes we need to discover!

It is always better to season your roast and then brown on all sides it seals in all the seasons and it renders all that fat and makes it delicious 😋

I love this series. I love watching cooking videos, but I do not enjoy cooking. Will you be doing another fitness challenge this summer like the walking one you did last summer? I have seven more days of school left and I am trying to come up with some sort of challenge, but want to do it with someone.

first time watcher lol I know what you said you were making but I think you missed the mark. the point of pasties are they are solid and substantial with big lumps of dough out the side that get held by grubby hands and then thrown away. To be fair your idea was interesting (crust on pasties isnt realy good its a package)
