Hello everyone! Today's cook with me video is a special one because my mom is going go be cooking with me! I have always said that I'll share Kenyan meals with you all but haven't delivered much but today, we'll be making one of my favorite Kenyan meals: Chapatis and Lentils Soup. This is a meal we used to eat a lot when I was in Kenya, especially on Sundays. That's when my parents would make chapatis.

Well done Mam. 1.In South India, we use All purpose flour with 2 broken eggs to make parotta in similar way. It goes well with chicken kurma. 2.To make Puris, Without adding the eggs, just knead the flour with less water and salt and rest it for 30 minutes. And spread it in a circle, neither thick nor thin. Deep fry it, in a medium size frying pan by adding 2 cups of oil. 3. To make Chappathi, add whole wheat flour, warm water, salt. Knead it and rest it for 30 minutes. Then spread it and toast both sides in a Tawa by adding little amount of oil.

im from mombasa, but currently living in zanzibar,,, let me give you another way of making soft chapati... boil some water first put it aside, in a basin put flour, salt and some fat, mix ut first, then start putting the warm water bit by bit until it becomes a dough... then you can now kneed it like 10 minutes or even more, the you can make the tabakis first. leave them to stay like 30 minutes to cool (helps in making it more soft)... then you can now fry... you will thank me later... 😉😉 say hi to mum.

Try using regular wheat flour healther n beter tasting softer... all purpose flour gets rubbery... also let dough rest 15 min least for nice chapatis

This video is so comforting. I love chapati! I make them for my daughter. It's been a while since i made some. I often make them to the point of the balls and then freeze the balls individually. Then when i want some, i take them out and within an hour i can roll them out and have fresh chapati on demand. Man, I'm heading to the kitchen right now after watching this 🥰

I am from India.. that was very similar to chapathi.. here we make chapathi with wheat flour .. try same process with wheat flour and batch by batch water while mixing..also very little oil is used while frying it..it will turn out even more tastier.. nice video!!
