Thank you for your query, it shouldn’t need calibrating straight out of the box, however, when you have started using the unit it’s best to recalibrate on a regular basis, the more it’s recalibrated (depending on the amount of times it’s being used), the more accurate the results will be. Once a week or once a month etc. We hope that helps!

Hi, my reference oil stated on the label is 2.8% TPM, when I calibrate, the result is around 4.5%. The instrument is new. Could you please advise why the deviation the result and the reference is quite far?

Hello, when you get the 4.5% result on the oil tester, you should then adjust the 270 to the % of the reference oil by pressing the arrows on the 270. This link here shows how to calibrate the 270: www.testo.com/en-UK/services/video-trainings-testo-270 Hope that helps!
