Acid Bath = saddest "what if" story in Metal history. I mean, they are ALREADY the greatest Sludge Metal band of all time with only two albums and only 6 years of being active, but if it wasn't for that accident and Audie's death, they would have become HUGE (in Metal standarts, obviously. I'm talking MH/LoG/Gojira levels of fame).

Absolutely agree... they were ahead of their time, and had a sound that nobody was doing or has done since. I can still listen to both albums front to back (yes, there's the demo and Agents too, but Kite String and Pegan were complete masterpieces).

Metal has a certain non-rhythmic lyric structure that gates a large majority of first time listeners. Acid Bath despite being the craziest, edgiest, most schizophrenic band i know, also carries THE most lyric rhythm ive ever heard in the 1st and 2nd halves of their songs; which are clearly split 50% sing-song, 50% experimental thrash.

I have friends in the Punk, Goth and Mainstream Metal scenes that all know of them. Hell a Glam Rocker got me into them. It's not the 90s anymore, they are a fundamental band of the genre and are very well know.
