In the actual game, you can find Miniguns once in a while (not that they're good past the first part of the game without getting weirdly melee range mods for them. blender blades basically.) and there is no need for Power Armor unless you want the Minigun that's on top of the Museum of Freedom in Concord. You use the Power Armor's strength to rip it off the Vertibird that crashed there... though if your character was built with enough S.P.E.C.I.A.L points put into Strength, they should be able to get the Minigun off the Vertibird without the Power Armor.

@@BriannaDrobot Then you got a bug, because I've played through the game in total about five different times and every time, no matter which faction I side with, Radio Freedom continues to give me quests for help from settlements including kidnapping, defend, and defend the checkpoint. I've destroyed the institute and the brotherhood, have set up over 100+ defense in each of about 15 settlements and yet still those fools can't stop getting themselves kidnapped and raided.
