I loved home ec. We had a whole year of it. The thing I've never mastered is pie crust....we were paired up and if it wasn't for my partner I would of failed miserably. To be honest after that I never attempted it again. That was in 1983. I have made dozens of pies with store bought pie shells. My grandson loves to cook with me. He wanted me to make him a cookbook of all his favorite recipes I make. They now live a few hours away, but he cooks for his family he is 13 now.

Tell Libby Grandma says HI! When I was In middle school, every time my parents would leave me home. I would try to make chocolate pudding. Back then you didnt have instant. But every time it would not set up. I mean not one time. I would pour it in moms pretty parfait dishes, and nothing. My dad would come home and try my pudding snicker a bit then say all we need is some ice cream. My mom would say try again as long as you keep the kitchen clean keep making it till you get it right. I had a disaster with Texas sheet cake too. What I learned was keep on trying.

Sigh... I have many. I was making spaghetti for the family and didn’t have enough sauce... I used ketchup. It did not help. Once I accidentally grabbed cinnamon and put it in my mashed potatoes and that wasn’t bad.
