Cooking Tempura Rice Bowl in Osaka Japan - Japanese restaurant.
Tendon is a Japanese dish consisting of tempura on a bowl of rice (donburi) . The name "tendon" is a combination of the words tempura and donburi.
Walking through the massive Shinsaibashi-Suji Shopping Street / Arcade in Namba, Osaka, Japan I saw a restaurant that specialised in Tendon dishes. The restaurant's kitchen was in full view of the public so I was able to easily film them making a tendon dish for me.
A classic Japanese dish, tendon tempura rice bowl recipe is a type of donburi (a one-bowl meal of rice topped with any meat or vegetable dish). Tendon is crisp tempura food (such as skrimp, fish, vegetables) laid over freshly steamed rice and topped with a delicious light soy dressing.
