Sister, you haven't cut or prepared anything wrong! You are just doing things a little differently which have been right for you and your family! I don't care who it is whether it's your mother or not don't allow anyone to make you feel badly because you have adapted your way of life to be what works best for y'all!

Foods look awesome, we have stuffed peppers in Hungary as well. One suggestion for the stuffed pepper liquid; when you put sour cream to hot liquid it will curdle, so we use heat compensation, which means in a bowl you mix sour cream and hot liquid from the pot, then you pour it back in the pot. Therefore it will not curdle. Give it a try! Love your channel! 😊

Love your videos! I am an Irish/Polish girl from the USA. I grew up eating borscht and stuffed peppers! Our borscht is similar but just a little chunkier. I am the person who makes the borscht for everyone now like my grandmother did. My grandmother was Irish but she married my grandfather who was Polish. My great grandparents did not speak English so my grandmother learned to speak Polish and read:write it as well. She translated for my great grandparents all the time. I learned how to make borscht from my Irish grandmother!! It’s probably my favorite soup! I just ordered 50 pounds of beets to can and of course make borscht for everyone! Looks delicious. I stuff peppers nearly the same way but bake in the oven. I was in Russia in 1997 and 1998. It was a mission trip with a large group of people from different churches. We stayed in Moscow but traveled in the country to schools and hospitals to visit children. The Russian people we met were lovely. The hospitality was so gracious. We were always offered tea and something to eat. Sometimes we didn’t want to eat because we knew the people were poor and didn’t want to take away the food they needed to eat. We never refused because if we did, it might insult them. It was winter with lots of snow, and I loved it all. Our guides told us about the people’s summer homes and how they loved to go there in warmer weather. I still cherish the memories and souvenirs I brought back, beautiful scarves, Matryoshka dolls and hand made jewelry. I loved the food we were served. Especially the beet dishes. I love beets and sour cream. Everyone I was traveling with would try to give me their beet dishes because they didn’t like beets and I do! 😂

Looks delicious Nastya! Wow so fresh and affordable too! Thank you for sharing your world with us. Funnily enough, I have been reading about little Russia or also known as little Siberia, up in Far North Queensland, in Australia. There are a lot of Russian/Australian Aboriginal roots there and also in Brisbane. Anyways, up in Far North Queensland, there are a lot of descendants of Leandro Illin and his family who settled in Australia in 1910. Five years later Leandro married a Ngadjon Aboriginal woman, Kitty, and after her d3ath in 1925 he raised their six children by himself in outback Queensland. Quite a legend with amazing morals. Good to see you are safe and happy, take care. Love from Oceania.

Lovely channel, just discovered. I love borscht and stuffed peppers here you would stuff the raw peppers with meat or meat and rice and set them in a tomato sauce, I would season tomato sauce with a teaspoon of brown sugar and black pepper then set the stuffed peppers into the tomato sauce and bake covered with foil at 375F for 1 hour. Some may cook on stove. ❤

I find it interesting that you get cottage cheese in a bag and that it’s dry. I also think it’s cool that some of your milk comes in a bag. I love stuffed peppers now. I bake mine with some tomato basil soup in the oven. I loved watching you and your mom cook. ❤️✌🏻🫑

I've never seen dry cottage cheese like that before. Didn't even know it existed. How very interesting! This is why I love your channel. I learn so much about other cultures and things that exist outside of my own little world :)

I looked up a recipe for syrniki and it calls for farmer's cheese, which is apparently a cottage cheese with most of the liquid removed. I guess to use "ordinary' cottage cheese, one would have to press out most of the liquid for the recipe to work. I plan to try it soon.

@@annabates6367 Oh, I see what you mean... like through a cheese cloth and/or a tea towel. That makes sense. How lucky Russia is that they can buy it in their grocery stores like that. Good luck on trying out the recipe.... I'm sure it's going to come out delicious :)

Hi Nastya you are delightful, and that was so entertaining and interesting to watch! Everything looks delicious! My Mother was Italian and the stuffed peppers remind me of her. I always baked them but will try them your way next time! In my ignorance I had no idea Siberia would have such an abundance of fresh fruit and veg. All I ever heard about Siberia was the cold weather. Also your English is so good, did you learn in school? Thank you for sharing❣

Hi, thank you ☺️ We have continental climate in Siberia - cold winters and hot summers. I was learning some English at school, but mainly started to talk when I was living abroad and was exposed to English speaking environment 🙂

This was fun, watching you and your very stern looking mother cook together. I never cooked with mine and I'm fine with that. Also, I'm vegetarian and my family all loved meat. Next time your mom appears, you should introduce her as the chief chef. I'm glad you don't take her criticism seriously. She probably loves having you back in Novosibirsk. Keep smiling, Nastya.
