yeah they were flying in his sirkosky s-76..the main thing is going to need to be answered though especially out there in Calabasas California those Hills is why did the pilot take off in those kind of conditions in the fog.. somebody made a mistake because it's a private plane that's the thing there's not a ground stop by the FAA it was just a poor choice to fly and the tragic decision made is what will probably end up being the underlying cause why did that helicopter take off in those Hills in the fog. it appears to be a bad decision by the death that could have possibly been very easily prevented.
