I ended up making a variation of this recipe and I was so excited that I was going to comment about it here and then I heard he went to the hospital. I figured I'd wait until after he was home. Unfortunately he never did return home. It's now 2021 and I still make the chili dog recipe and when I do I think about Vern. You may be gone Vern, but you are missed and still very remembered.
