Flavour can be described as sour, Salty, sweet, bitter. Food colours are colours like red. Green , yellow, blue added to the food. In most foods you add both colour and flavour. Flavour is about taste and colour is about appearance.

You have to consult food scientists or chemists for advice. Otherwise don't add any preservative without the guidance from qualified and trained food technologists.
