We've used this griddler for a variety of items including steak, fish, vegetables kzbin.infoUgkxMcXT6_MuT0hB3ejyGQQHaeof9bwoWPUf and mushrooms and it's been great! Gets that great smokey flavor when using high heat or sear. The grill works amazingly simple and very low smoke for what it is. Heat gets up fairly quick, especially on closed position. The griddler side is fairly simple, better for eggs and pancakes rather than any cooking. Use the flat plates with the grill side if needed.Cleanup is easy and having heat on both sides is great for cooking a large amount or panini press. This definitely gets hot though so be careful with the sides.

I'm not a huge fan of regular burgers on the grill but I got a Weber Crafted Griddle and wanted to try out smash burgers... I watched a couple of videos but ended up using yours as my main tutorial... Let me tell you, best burgers I've ever had on the grill by far! Only main differences I did was use 1/3 measuring cup and seasoned them before they went on the grill.

Another trick if you like the crust on your burger. When you flip them, try and put them in a spot where there was not a burger. I usually am for the spot I just toasted my buns in. Also, if you don’t have a press or want to minimize cleanup and use minimal tools. Just use the spatula. Use a scraper or something to help press down. Once smashed, “SLIDE” your spatula off. Don’t lift straight up or the meat might stick. Works like a charm.

If you are not a fan of American Cheese, try a slice of Provolone and a slice of Swiss Cheese in loo of the American Cheese. It's not traditonal, but might avoid a divide in the family. Enjoy. Great video! I make these burgers twice a week, quick and easy, and awesome.

I do mine about the same way on my Blackstone. My seasoning is salt, lemon Pepper, onion powder and garlic powder in my Blackstone shaker. I like your 1/2C measuring idea. I will try it. I will also try your loose ball idea. I normally just roll them into about a 2” diameter ball. I use my Blackstone press and parchment paper. I broke the handle off my Blackstone press and welded it back on. It will not come off, again.
