Cool Door Panels from Old Coffee Sacks: How to Build Door Panels (DIY Mercedes T1 Camper Conversion)

In this van build series we build an overlander campervan based on a 1988 Mercedes 310 T1 Bremer. In this episode we build new door panels and show you how to make unique door panels from old coffee sacks.
We also install our walls, finally glue our vinyl floor and build the first small piece of furniture, a shoe cabinet.

Eignet sich das Vinyl denn für die Temperaturschwankungen im Van? Ich habe von einem anderen Vinyl hersteller gesagt bekommen dass es sich nicht dafür eignen soll. Daher frage ich nach den Erfahrungen. Würde das nämlich auch gerne nehmen. Tolle Videos übrigens. Eigentlich würde ich hier mit viel mehr Aufrufen rechnen.

Hi Thomas, bei mir sieht alles noch gut aus und die Vinyl-Streifen halten bis jetzt. Aber es fehlen halt noch die Erfahrungswerte, wie sich das im Reisealltag bewährt und insbesondere dann auch bei Extremtemparaturen. Das wird sich dann erst im kommenden Sommer auf der ersten Reise zeigen. Was ich aber schon festgestellt habe sind haarfeine Spalten bei Temperaturen unter Null. Das Material arbeitet also etwas. Das war aber bislang so minimal, dass es nicht auffällt. Ich hatte in der Sonne bislang keine gegenteiligen Probleme mit Wellen oder dergleichen, aber der Sahara-Test steht noch aus...

Hello! Did you ever test the van on its towing capability? I suppose the engine does not have enough power for that..

@@luuuuuudoooooo No, we haven't. But I would also expect that the van lacks power to tow a heavy trailer. But according to the registration papers the van would be allowed to tow a 2000kg trailer... very optimistic ;)
