I use an M18 battery with a Ryobi adapter to power a similar Ryobi 18V fan. The Ryobi is decent but it uses a brushed motor. You can now buy similar-size battery fans from Ryobi 40V, Ego 56V, and, Ridgid 18V. They're all quite heavy--more transportable than portable.

My new Ryobi 40v 20” air cannon fan may well be the best Ryobi tool, perhaps the best cordless tool in terms of quality of life improvements, I’ve ever bought bar none!!! However she is a little big and surprisingly thirsty for watts even on low. So when I’m in smaller spaces and need more runtime but still want a bunch of air moving, I’d love an 18” fan. I have both Ridgid and Milwaukee batteries as well as Ryobi 18v batteries. I’ve got pretty much the entire TTI lineup available at homeless despot. Between the Ridgid 18” and the Milwaukee 18”, which would you pick if you could pick just one? You’re the only channel I’m aware of that has reviewed both. I’m assuming none of the Ryobi 18” really compare. Let me know if I’m wrong.

I would love a comparison with the ego 56 misting fan. I have Milwaukee and ego products including the ego fan, and the fan is so much better than I could have imagined. I thought about also buying the Milwaukee 18 inch fan but I’m hesitant because the advertised performance isn’t as good as the ego fan. The Milwaukee cost basically the same as the ego and the only feature I see is that it’s a hybrid powered fan.

The fact that Milwaukee refuses to allow battery charging on products which also support an electrical connection is just ridiculous.
@madangel2002
@madangel2002 5 ай бұрын
They do on certain products, some of thier radios charge the battery but with how many barriers this fan will go through you’re better off buying a rapid charger

Is it too much to ask for Milwaukee to start having on board power gauges on some of these tools. Specially on something like this if I’m working, I would be able to look over and see 2-3 bars displayed on the tool or whatever the case may be. I don’t like to run my batteries till they’re completely depleted and it’s not something I always think about but if they had onboard battery gauge, that’s something you would notice. I run into that problem with their dual battery wet dry vac.

This is where bluetooth would actually be useful, have it give an estimation of runtime on your phone or even set a limit so when it reaches that amount it notifies you to get ready to change the battery.
@wyo_garage20

Hmm interesting. Never have thought about that, the mower does have a large gauge while you run it. But yeah, would be nice with this, or my radio, things like that. Something to see across the room. Bluetooth would work but that assumes you have your phone on you all day, which most do but it’s a requirement where a large gauge wouldn’t be

I've read a number of reviews that say the 12-amp battery was defective and totally stopped working not long after they purchased it. Others reported that each time the battery is charged it has less and less power. The problems with this battery is what keeps me from buying this fan.

Why you say that. Just curious bc it's a lot of money and I have 2 12.0 batteries already. But if it's not a great product Im not trying to buy it. I have the DeWalt 20v and loved it but I just bought the m12 bc it was smaller more convenient and so far it's the best bc how long the battery lasts and the amount of air. The DeWalt was a little stronger/cooler but the batteries drain way to fast.
