@@tremainej8171 Mate, I did a bushwalk yesterday with a mate and he almost stepped on a Red Belly Black Snake. Probably around 2.5m long just sunning itself next to the track. We stood there for ages photographing it and marvelling at the beautiful creature that it is. So we have more than just BIG ASS SPIDERS to enjoy here. Ever time I go to the US, that's all I hear about - the Aussie "critters" that get our Yankee friends more excited talking about than we ever get when we encounter them. You don't want to mess with our Larapinta Bull Koalas though - they're vindictive and fast. See one and it's lights out before you know it... ;-)

Russia has some of the most inventive mechanics, especially older ones, because back during the Soviet era there really weren't that many repair shops around, nor parts stores. You had to pretty much figure it out on your own and repair your Trabant or what-have-you from experience and determination. Full disclosure: I'm an American.

VW dune-mud bugs were commonplace in the 70's because they really weren't that hard to build. Back then, VW Beetles were dime a dozen and cheap (my first car way back in 1980 was a 74 Beetle). All you had to do was remove the body, do some minor mod's and voila, you had a buggy. Used to see them all the time, a' toolin' down the road, on their way to do some mud-buggin'

[Random info] I used to own/operate 3 custom shops, but know my limits [Back to Theon] He Has No Limits! You'll see him disassemble and then cut apart multiple transmissions, come up with custom gearing, etc. and then when all is said n' done, those transmissions work flawlessly! UnReal.. He never seizes to amaze me! 🤘

And most modern diesel engines aren't nearly as clean as you think, they just use recycled oil systems to keep the soot down by using your engine oil to literally fill your engine with the soot instead making them steadily less efficient so after about 100,000 miles your intake and headers are covered in over a inch of soot clogging it up.

It's just a diesel motor without the extra fluid to keep the soot down, even the supposedly clean diesels still smoke like this you just never see it because they spray a liquid in that keeps it from ever exiting and instead builds up in the engine itself making it steadily less efficient and ever 100,000 miles require you to clean them out or they'll be clogged up and seemingly dead.

That Volkswagen dune buggy is a little late to the party. So like 70 years ago they were cutting up VW Beetles to make Sand Rails or in the 1960's the produced the Manx, were the term dune buggy comes from. The fact that he had ANY trouble at all is embarrassing. If he switches to a VW Bus transaxle the gearing will be better for wheelies. Why a Prius battery? Any car battery would work. Also, some people can build the crap out of those old VW pancakes, and then they add a turbo and it gets crazy.
