I recently purchased a Cricut Maker for other projects and I was so excited to find this video...I can't wait to explore the possibilities!! I have not worked with FS999 Silver Clay yet but will be ordering some soon!

Have you tried it yet? I have a Cricut too and was wondering if it would work as well.
@Raven-Creations Жыл бұрын
I'm really confused, nothing adds up. You measured 77mm, you then scaled it to 108% (except the screen showed it was scaled to 92.32mm, which is 120%). You then cut it out, and wrapped it around the stone, where you should have had about 6mm overlap if it was scaled to 108%, but you seemed to have more, suggesting it probably was 92.32mm. But then the very next thing you did was to trim it right back to 77mm, so when you fired it, according to what you said, it should have shrunk to 71mm and no longer fit around the stone, but it obviously did. So, why bother scaling at all, if the first thing you do after cutting it out is to trim it back to the 100% size, and firing didn't seem to shrink it at all?

could you solder the ends together? instead of using paste ?

Hi Paulette, you can solder the ends once the clay has been fired.

Does the clay not shrink after fyring? So the stone won’t fit?
@cooltoolsvideos2 жыл бұрын
Hi Yvonne, yes, metal clay shrinks after firing. This is factored in before firing. FS999 shrinks about 13%. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

Since this was created 5 years ago, is the Silhouette Curio still relevant or is there something new now?
@cooltoolsvideos11 ай бұрын
Hello, the Curio is no longer available, and the Portrait has taken its place. Check out our video and the products available (below the video) here: cooltools.us/collections/intro-to-silhouette-portrait-kit-with-cindy-pope Hope this helps!

Thank you for this cool tutorial. What I don’t understand is after you fire the shapes (bezel, bail etc) for 3-5 minutes with the torch, is the piece ready or does it need some more firing in the kiln? I am talking about Art Clay Silver. Thank you so much 😊
@cooltoolsvideos5 жыл бұрын
Hello, after torch firing, once Cindy attaches the bezel to the back piece with paste, she fires the combined pieces in the kiln at 1472°F for 5 minutes. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for this, Cindy! Could this be done on a Silhouette Cameo instead of a Curio? If so, would the directions require any modifications? Thanks again!

Hello Margaret, We received a response from Cindy on your question. Here is her response: "Yes no modifications except the cut setting should be a bit more force. 30 to 33." Thank you for your question!

I am missing a step. She goes right from measuring the stone to putting the measurements in the software where the bezel design is already there. Is that bezel design downloaded from the silhouette store?
@cooltoolsvideos4 жыл бұрын
Hi Najia, this design was created by Cindy using the Silhouette software. I hope this helps!

CoolToolsVideos I would have liked to know how to do that. Also, does she use fs999 clay or paper? Did she roll out the sheet or purchase it like that?

@@najiahaddock9554 Cindy created her own sheet of FS999 clay. You can learn how to do roll out sheets of clay, as well as use the Silhouette software here: www.cooltools.us/Video-Introduction-to-the-Silhouette-Curio-by-Cindy-Pope-s/2619.htm

can you make the bezel wire and solder to sheet metal? instead of building your component from metal clay....?

Hi Paulette, yes you can solder metal instead. You will not be able to use sheet metal however in the Curio. Hope this helps!

the paste is not mentioned in the 'supply' list, does cool tools carry this special paste to put 2 fired pc together?
@cooltoolsvideos5 жыл бұрын
Hello, we do sell FS999 paste, you can find it here: www.cooltools.us/FS999-Fine-Silver-Paste-15-gram-p/fsc-015.htm You can also create your own paste by adding distilled water to the clay. Hope this helps!

@@cooltoolsvideos In the video Cindy uses art clay paste and refers to it as a type "that is designed to put 2 fired pc together" (starts at 34.30) at 45.32 she metions this kind of paste that is designed to put 2 fired pc together.
