How many of these videos do I have to watch before I actually see the actual machine actually doing anything?

Hi Michael, there are two introduction videos and so far we have released one project video. You can view the project video here: www.cooltools.us/Video-Silver-Fold-Over-Earrings-using-the-Curio-by-C-Pope-s/2631.htm

Great video. I was hoping to see the part where the design pattern was used in your settings included in this video i.e. Cut/Etch & how the design was set for the actual cutting.

I have the Designer Edition and the Panels won't save in a stack like you set up. Yes, I saved a blank project and restarted the program and it defaults to just the Page Setup Panel only open. Any ideas to make that setting permanent?

I can pull the menus out and join them together, but when I reopen Studio (Business Edition) they're back on the right side. Is there a way to save them in the stacked mode?

After watching this and the other limited choices of Silhouette Curio videos over and over I decided to purchase the Silhouette Curio specifically to use for PMC. Cindy makes it look easy. Even purchased different Curio videos at CraftCast.(with mostly outdated versions of the Silhouette software) Frustratingly, I have found without prior knowledge of the Silhouette software the learning curve for the business edition has been a bit steep. My question is what determines how many platforms are used with the user defined settings described in this video.
@cindypope61224 жыл бұрын
0 to 1.25 mm thickness - use all 6 mm of platforms 1.5 to 2.5/2.75 mm - use 5 mm of platforms (remove the 1mm platform) 2.75 to 3.75 mm - use 4mm of platforms (remove the 2mm platform)

Thanks so much for for purchasing some of my craftcast classes. I would recommend the Learning The software Video. www.craftcast.com/recordings/getting-know-silhouette-software-version-4 if you are having problems with the software. Please also join the McSilies facebook group and I will help you join the free private student group for craftcast students which will give you any support you need. facebook.com/groups/MCSilies/

@@cindypope6122 🙋🏼thanks Cindy for your response. The struggle is real 🤪🧐😡🤣but I will keep trying. Unfortunately I don’t do Facebook but thanks again for the suggestion and support. I believe with determination and practice, eventually I’ll overcome the steep learning curve. I read somewhere you said at least 15 minutes a day of practice until the steps of a project are memorized without referring back. I’m getting there.

Hi Chrissy, unfortunately Silhouette has been having issues and we have been out of stock for these kits for awhile now. We are unable to know when they will become back in stock, but if you click on the "email me when this is back in stock" you'll be notified as soon as they are. So sorry for any inconvenience.

When trying to set up the user defined settings on line color, I only 1 line and the box is red. How do I add the other lines and change the color. I did read a comment below and added some boxes. Also. How do I get the pdf you indicate you provided. I have spent many hours trying to familiarize myself but still have not been able to actually use the Curio. Is it usually that difficult to perform a simple task.
@cooltoolsvideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi Linda, the pdf can be found here: www.cooltools.us/Video-Introduction-to-the-Silhouette-Curio-by-Cindy-Pope-s/2619.htm Cindy Pope explained to us: The user defined settings are not just a simple step in the process they are a foundational part of the process because the user defined settings preset in the program are for paper and vinyl and other things, not for metal clay. We need to add them only once so they are always available when the machine is used for metal clay. The colors are the colors of the lines of the titles (blue ) and the line colors of the boxes (red) . If you have only one color of box or shape on the screen (red the default color) when you go to cut by line color under the send tab you will only see the red line. If you draw a second box and change the line color to Blue and go into the same screen you will show the 2 color of lines in your file blue and red. Hope this helps! Please note that there are other videos as well by Cindy that may help. She noted that: On the earring design video minute 16 to 22ish you will see the color scheme (red for cut, Blue and Green for Etch) www.cooltools.us/Project-Video-Silver-Fold-Over-Earrings-using-p/ctp-295.htm On the Faux Bone Video minute 23 to 30ish talk about the send screen also www.cooltools.us/Project-Video-Design-and-Etch-on-Faux-Bone-p/ctp-327.htm

Help!!!i bought a Curio to use with metal clay specifically. When setting up my software and machine, I’ve come to a hurdle. When selecting my preferences and user defined settings, I click on the “line” tab and nothing is in those fields. There is no + sign or any way to add info in those fields. I can, however, see populated fields in the “simple” tab. What am I doing wrong???? This is driving me cuckoo and I don’t know where to get help!🤔
@cooltoolsvideos6 жыл бұрын
Hi Kathleen, we asked Cindy your question and she replied: "She needs to have at least one shape drawn on the design screen in order to see anything in the cut by line color tab. There need to be lines for the cut by line color tab to be populated. In the video there are 2 shapes on the screen. She will only see one tool in the send screen unless she has her Curio plugged in with the platform loaded." Hope this helps!

When you say, "made these stands", do you mean you cut the stands out and assembled them, or that you decorated them? What materials were used?
@cooltoolsvideos6 жыл бұрын
Hello, we asked Cindy your question and she replied: The stands are from my friends at Craft Chameleon. They are etched on the Silhouette. You would need a fancy laser cutter to cut Acrylic Like this.www.craftchameleon.com/products/acrylic-phone-stand. I have a class on craftcast that shows the whole process and lots of other things. www.craftcast.com/recordings/etching-your-curio Have a good day!

Thank you for answering my question so quickly! I appreciate it. I figured they were cut with something else, just wanted to make sure, because that would have been a guaranteed curio sale ; )

You can totally use your machine with Polymer clay This is using a slightly older version of the software but I learned to use my machine with polymer from Mags www.craftcast.com/videos/create-3d-flower-polymer-clay-necklace-using-your-silhouette-cameo

Hello, Cindy attached the metal piece by using a hidden rivet method that she has only taught in her personal workshops. In the future, this may become a Cool Tools video :)
