THRIFTING IS LIFE!! One of ,my all time favorite online thrift finds is an incredible 80's black leather trench coat ...it's butter soft and the coolest vintage cut but do you know what made it even cooler this season!? After 2 years of owning her I only just discovered that on top of her too roomy standard pockets she also has a giant hidden pocket nestled inside the chest area and its big enough to fit my phone.... I swear it changed my life when I found it only a few short weeks ago 😂 how I didn't discover it for two years is beside the point 😂 Great video Karen x

Love seeing someone as excited about pre-loved 🙂. ATM, my local oppie has '10 items for $5 !! Didn't I go off!! Kathmandu fleece hoodie (lime), 3 pairs leather slides (black, camel +black /white), a Sherpa bomber (unworn), 2 pairs of Levi's, a khaki canvas cotton jacket and a fabulous pair of yellow & orange wedges with metal funky trim!! What i love about you is that you do your own thing. Whether it's vintage or how you make things go together you stand for individuality. I don't care for vintage but like most people I do have something that's peculiar to me. I have an entire closet for work clothes. in my spare time I do physical labor. Sometimes it is what you'd expect: target jeans, converse sneakers Sometimes it's expensive stuff that wasn't a fav or t-shirts where the colar got a bit stretched out after a few wears. Work clothes turn over pretty fast. My point is I've never seen anyone say "this is the closet for my work clothes" like I have. Most of us have something personal about how we do clothes that doesn't match how everyone else does clothes, and it's nice to feel included in the fashion world. Thanks.

A pocket is a cozy place to put your hands. Any pocket will do. Coat pocket, pants pocket. Our hands intuitively search for pockets. You don't expect it in a dress, so when it's there it's an automatic bonus.

I found a mohair sweater vest at an estate sale a few weeks ago...there were two at $1.50 each, but they were a small. I am usually a large or medium. They fit and plenty of room...love them. I love thrifting at estate sales..beautiful blazers...most made in US..pay less than five dollars for most items ...jackets, coats etc 😀

Pockets mean so much to me for dresses and skirts so that 1)If it's windy and can hold the garment down in a chic way 2) I have a place to put my hands when walking around the city or when at a dinner party if I'm at somewhere I don't know people and look more put together *less fidgeting 3)To keep my hands warm if I am wearing a cropped jacket 4) maintains a beautiful silhouette almost manakin like vs arms swinging :)

I stopped going to No Relation on 1st Ave after to back-to-back incidents. The first horrible experience was when I stopped in to shop as I waited for my dentist appointment around the corner. I was being followed all throughout the store and felt very uncomfortable so I left. Mind you, I’m a brown woman, also of Latin descent, like the people who run this store. The last straw was when I tried to buy a pair of Levi’s jeans. When I went to the register they didn’t want to honor the $10 price tag on jeans. They said the pants were actually $25. I said no I’m paying the price listed on tag. I asked to speak to the manger, a very short lady who accused me of swapping the tags for a cheeper price myself. I laughed because obviously I didn’t do that! I promptly left and promised to never return to this location. I used to frequent the other No Relation in the East Village location before they closed down a few years ago and they were absolutely lovely people. But this specific location? Forget it! Basically enter at your own risk with this place-especially if you are of color.

LOVE to get to see these shops - I'm in the Pacific NW - I used to sell my clothes to Buffalo Exchange and would find pieces there, and then there's a vintage shop that I think had to close when the owner got sick - sit was huge and they had everything - super cool stuff, and there's a Goodwill boutique and The Shoppe - so many. But, it'd be fun to go NYC and just check out all the vintage and thrift shops and mostly to see the street fashion. I love your range in style!

YAAAY I Love thifting and my most compliments come from thifted outfits. Harlem use to have great thift stores but I haven't been back there in over 10 years. ahhh my favorite karen videos. thrifting! most of my wardrobe is thrifted or designer vintage so i love seeing you find treasures. im so glad you got the orange jacket. i was literally yelling at my computer at work, buy the jacket!! lol i have also been thinking about cropping some jackets after finding an amazing pre done one in a thrift store. go for it unless you don't have a regular camo jacket as well. i find i wear my reg camo jacket so much.

Pockets for me means the creator of the garment did not cut corners creating the piece. Extra care and thought was put into the design. Lined suits and coats versus unlined would be another example. Love thrifting and have purchased several pieces on Thred up. I could never have found the pieces I purchased here in the Midwest.
