I’ve only heard the album once so far, but this is a very worthy sequel to God’s Country. I’ve often thought of Chat Pile as like Acid Bath or Thou if they were fronted by a very mentally ill homeless man that was yelling at no one from across the street.

I loved this new Chat Pile album and I thought it was better than their debut from 2022, which was also enjoyable. Raygun Busch still has a fierce vocal delivery and I love how diverse this album is on each track. Definitely an album of the year contender.

AOTY. By the way, love the Korn vibes coursing through Cool World

Yeah, it reminds me of the self titled record from 1994. They don’t make albums like that anymore… in the mainstream, anyways.

The bassist, Stin, is an unapolgetic Korn fan and has talked about their influence in interviews, and you can definitely hear it in the mix.(I'd generally describe their sounds as something like Jesus Lizard, Korn, Big Black, Godflesh, Helmet...)

I've spun the album quite a few times the past few days. It just gets better and better. 10/10.

I'm surprised Shame wasn't released as a single, it's catchy AF.
@autodecapitationАй бұрын
Shame quickly became my favorite track which is troubling given how incredibly soul-destroying the lyrics are. The melodies, the darkness, the growls... what a song.
@MrLando0Ай бұрын
I dig this one much more than the debut. The vocals are better integrated into the songs. Love the mix of noise rock, grunge, nu-metal, industrial.
@robertsparling917Ай бұрын
Looking up the info on God's Country, the opening track on that is about a true crime that happened ten years ago when someone got decapitated at a food processing plant.

Lemme preface by saying it wouldn't effect my enjoyment, nor would I feel the need to tell someone what they should think. With all that said I REALLY thought , I wasn't going to enjoy this 😅 Which also wouldn't have been that wild; since I had to listen to it twice

Really dig this offering. It has such an indie rock feel to it despite the aggressive sound.

It's very good, I find it a lot more groovy than God's Country. God's Country is a lot of visceral and in your face. Cool World is still hard hitting, a little more reserved. But that's just me. The 2nd half of the albums particularly stands out to me.

Ken Mode is my favourite Canadian noise metal band. I've been listening to them for 15 years, few people know them in Russia. They are arrogant guys and do their work more statically, but do not create an aura of kitsch like Chat Pile.

Want something weird and wacky that does live up to the hype? Just released, the debut album from Doedsmaghird called Omniverse Consciousness. If that name looks familiar, it's because they are apparently a new off-shoot of Dodheimsgard. The album is meant to be a companion piece to last year's Black Medium Current from DHG, and man is it awesome. Think of it like the flip side of the coin. Whereas BMC was moody, atmospheric, spacy, etc., this album is more extreme, aggressive, and driving, but still keeps all the strange bells and whistles that make it unique. I love this record so much. Just might be my AOTY, like Black Medium Current was last year, but nobody seems to have noticed it.

Now they're much more sounds like early Korn. My problem with the albums is sometimes until the chorus it is hard to seperate the songs. Sometimes it feels like they're playing same Korn-like riff in every song.

Hey man! I’ve been watching here and there, depending on the album, and I wanted to know whether or not you’d be down to review one of our albums? Our band Odd Breed put out a multi-genre album back in January called No Brakes On Red and it would be really cool to see a reaction for it. It’s on all platforms, so it should be easy to access. If so, we’ll react to it and shout you out (not that we have a crazy reach, but maybe like a “small channel helps small channel” kind of deal)? Just let us know, please.

You persuaded me to check out the album, but it's going to take a lot more to persuade me that 'Chat Pile' isn't an absolutely terrible band name. I can understand why they see the world as a bleak and miserable place when they realise they're probably stuck with that name for the rest of their musical careers.

Easy AOTY so far for me, despite being an extremely un-fun and uneasy listen. Not sure where I'd place this compared to god's country, but their evolution as musicians and songwriters are apparent. Also, i lowkey want an angry chat pile fanboy drinking game now, so just for the hell of it, allow me to tell you to *insert heavy handed, exploitative vulgarism here*, while enjoying a beer myself Keep up the good work, and also *unintelligible chat pile fanboy noises*, you *random expletive or offensive term*!

Nope, because I don't think Daughters would reform and I don't think Chat Pile would want to share the bill with a rapist.
