You raised an interesting point that I didn't consider before. I have a 2006 Jetta and one of the electric cooling fans stopped working. I'm sure it's that typical problem where the brushes in the motor get a bit warn, and stick in their housing slots and no longer contact the armature. As a result the AC doesn't work as well when it's really hot. As a result I'm pushing the compressor too hard. I need to fix that.

No clutch to fail on that one though, but you certainly dont want to run around with high pressure.

customer came in the other day, and had been suffering for 3 years with no ac. for 60 diag and no charge for soldering a wire back together he then had working AC. he wishes he would have had us look at it years before!

Power steering problem when the car runs it is ok after 10mins or so turn car off no more power steering have to wait until it cools down and then power steering comes back have changed the pump but still have the same problem

I have a question I have a 09 mini Clubman if the Freon is low will the AC clutch still come on

there is a point where if the freon is low the system will not turn on the clutch. All AC systems are this way because the freon "carries" the oil through the system in order to lube the compressor. If freon is low oil will just sit in one spot and compressor will fail due to no oil passing through.
