Thank you for talking about the extra liter in the radiator. I'm in the process of changing the coolant on my 05 repsol and I was doing the first flush and overflowed it with around 2 liters of water and I was really confused. Thank you for the great video!

@13:13 i have the same tube free/released/hanging (rightside screen) with no connection to other place ...it is normal? What pipe ou tube is that? Actually I have two
@gsd32i2 жыл бұрын
Hi . I don’t have the bike anymore . But I think that you have 2 tubes going to the water pump . One comes from the radiator when the thermostat os open . The other is the one that comes from the engine cylinders and goes to the pump and back into the cylinders again . When the thermostat reaches a certain temperature a valve is opened that sends the hot water to the radiator to cool it and then a pipe which you can see on the left side goes back to the water pump to be pumped around again . When the engine is running cooler the thermostat closes and no water is pump through the radiator !! Hope that helps 🙈👍

Hi Paul. Thanks , yup stupid place for the bottle. Someone suggested after refilling with coolant to then start the bike up with the radiator cap off and rev the engine for a few minutes to further help to try and clear any air inside, before putting the cap on.But check with a downloadable vfr manual just to be sure of the procedure. 👍

Fill through the cap slowly until water is pouring out then bleed the air by blipping the throttle then top off again and fill the overflow tank to the line.

If the oil filter is not changed, how many liters of oil will be added?
@farelferdinand1089 Жыл бұрын
I read in some forum that a 2012 has 2.8L of oil excluding the filter volume. That's why it takes 3L to change the oil and filter. The oil filter has 200ml.

I've just picked up a 2014 blade bloody love it amazing bike I've been used to 47hp on a2 lisence so feels amazing,, ive been sad today and took rad off to clean lol so i think i can get away with just putting the 3 litres of coolant straight in.. Im not dissing your work bud great vid just in manual it says top coolant and overfill tank then it says start engine for 3 minutes and rev then switch off and add coolant if nessarly then it says install cap it dosent make it very clear so my guess is it littery just want cap off for a short amount of time just for the 1st start up

@@gsd32i but I will wait the bike has barely 2700 km... is too early to empty and change the coolant on.my bike...but frankly intrigued me that liter that does not want to come out😤!but if Honda said it's OK and so it's better ...but it would have been better to have that liter out, because it dilutes the collar i.don t now how much but the specs un the Honda says that is must be 50% coolant 50% distilled water no?
@gsd32i5 жыл бұрын
MrKyokushin25 I have test ridden the bike and although we have a 40mph speed limit here (🙈) so just like driving in town , the bike was operating at approximately 88-90 degrees C. So looks all good . As I said in video you could drain another litre out having put the 2 litres in which would reduce the amount of distilled water again ... I may do this as I still have unused coolant , from the 4 litres I purchased to do the coolant change . The coolant hasn’t been changed from when I purchased the bike new and am thinking of selling it so I changed it and the engine oil / filter too . 😎
@MrKyokushin255 жыл бұрын
@@gsd32i in one word, you can still empty the radiator once you've poured the 2 liters of antifreeze over the litre fi distilled water, then you empty the radiator and then put the same antifreeze and look like this should go after this antifreeze process and will not be diluted so much because it will not be that liter anymore no?
@gsd32i5 жыл бұрын
MrKyokushin25 distilled water is far better at heat transfer than anti freeze. But The anti freeze has rust inhibitors etc in it and obviously stops the water freezing if you live in cold climates ! Some people in warm climates use 20/80 mix as they don’t need much anti freeze. Like you say u and I have said you could run the bike after the 2 litres was put in, to 104 degrees c to get the thermostat to open and then let it cool .... then drain out 1 litre or even 2 litres then you know you’re gonna now be running at 50/50 once you then add another 2 litres of pre mixed anti freeze ...especially if your bike sits outside in the winter!. So you would need 4+ litres (€8 x4)as you need some for the expansion bottle . 👍
