Hey now! Those birds at the start were just expressing themselves! Sorry you hurt your knee! My new job is very physical and it's really taking a toll on my walks because I'm always extremely sore and since I work night shifts, I wake up at noon and by that time the trails are full of people (I like walking early in the morning!) Also I talk to birds in front of people all the time and if it means strangers will think I'm crazy and not talk to me, I consider it a bonus!

Re. Knee, it strikes me that the female (grey) part of the adjustable across chest strap of your rucksack has an integrated whistle; are you aware of the international whistle calling distress signals being to blow three times and the rescue team's response usually being six blows? You can blow three times for three seconds each: while you’re blowing, it is suggested you count to three in your head during each blast so it lasts approximately three seconds, then take a breath or two between each blast to give the sound time to travel and catch your breath, then repeat. Give yourself a few seconds after you’ve completed the three blast pattern, and then repeat as long as you can to give yourself the best chance of being heard and located using direction of your whistle. You never know, might be handy if your leg falls off at the knee in darkest Hampshire.
@cdwc
@cdwc 3 жыл бұрын
This is excellent advice. Thank you cool dude. Yes that is a whistle on the chest strap. Osprey bags are great and all have them. The worry about injuries is why I bought my Fenix watch which sends an email to three people if you are stranded and gives your exact location.
