I used to have one of the original HAF X cases with to 300mm side fan - monstrous, spacious and built like a tank. This looks like an extremely well thought out and very high build quality case. It is way more than I would spend myself, but for someone looking for the best case they can get, this looks like a serious contender.

This is the first HAF that I've liked, I did wonder about the trimmings. I was hoping they used aluminium or steel for the top and front but no, Coolermaster had to use plastic. The only time this has come off really well for them was with the Comos II, but that has it's own problems internally. This HAF looks to have those trimmings well executed but the pricing is $100 -$150 too high. I'd keep a look out for it heavily rebated or on offer! Another thing, the panels should probably be hinged, I don't mind on a £100 chassis but on a £350 plus? I wouldn't want any chance of breaking the glass. I liked how you angled the tubing, James. It matched the mobo rather well. A good clean build.

It's a shame there are so many wasteful parts and pointless aesthetic elements like the screen and the glass+rgb that make this case expensive. If they had trimmed down all this stuff and made this layout an affordable one, this would be the best case on the market by far, an easy winner for the storage/efficiency/w-loop crowd. There are many good ideas put into this case, bummer that it's undermined by useless bling. Never understood how nobody so far borrowed O11-XL's double compartment layout and implemented it in a regular mid-tower. On a side note, I've probably watched a couple of James' reviews so far, they're all good watches. Looking forward to the next one!

The $299 case is actually the HAF 700 berserker, not the evo. Same interior aside from missing the front radiator tray, and the exterior is airflow without the glass and lcd.

@KitGuruTech Thank you for this review. Having this case from this monday (12 august 2024) & didn't understand how to instal this razer for GPU. You mentioned that it's tool less, when you take out that stubs behind the case, and you didn't unscrew that small bolts? Just installed razer on it & closed by that latch? I decided to install graphic card classically for a time, but unscrewed two small bolts from back & just closed by latch.

9:00 From what I have heard ITX would be useful to get latency for memory down a little more since they tend to be closer to the socket then ATX. I don't know that the 5 or so nano seconds would make that much of a difference though.

What?! Cooler masters return to HAF, guess you forgot the h500p mesh and the h500m. I have the h500m and it’s a beast for cooling, and it’s very low noise at max due to the two 200mm at the front and 140mm exhaust. What I immediately noticed was the really good build quality with CM.

I didn't get chance to show it as I bent the bracket up without thinking. I wouldn't like to bend it back again as it might cause metal fatigue and crack the bracket. It's not a big deal but I like things to be as straight and level as possible. It is an easy fix, a little upwards pressure will pull the sag out of the bracket.

This is sick price (actually here it costs even much more), why almost all pc components prices went sky in compare what were when i was buying my computer 10.5 years ago and they are not giving really much extra. I have haf 932 advanced case, it is very good for temperatures and really don't do much noise (however all components inside must be reasonable selected as it is open one) and i liked it, never needed to worry about any temperatures, big fans are good but not often used anymore also important to me it had let 4x 3.5 drives inside (500 HAF only have 2 slots and because of this i won't buy it unfortun.). Old haf full case costed something like ~$100, why they don't offer something similiar for similiar price? SSD are not good for storage, 2.5 slots won't help for lack of 3.5 slots in 500haf.

I would have thought the price would be $350-450. I like my corsair 1000D more but I like that there are more cases like this. I personally would have gone more extreme with having more room for radiators in a single place like the exhaust, if that's the front or top or outside of the case.

Impressive build job James 🤩🤩👍🤯! Loving the “Nvidia FE” GPU angular tubing design personally. Dells 20+ year old “toolless” design is now a trend setter with this new CM case 🤦♀🤦 lol 😆😝. I prefer this case to build in compared with the 1000D for sure. I know what you mean with the tool less stuff. I remember having a case about 15-20 years ago with tool less PCIe slots. This Cooler Master design is like an evolution of that but still, it's not revolutionary by any means.

Really good build, James. Solid choice going with those 45° bends 👍 Can you speak a bit about how mounting (2) 360s up top would go? Meaning: is it going to be a tall order, or is there just so much width it would be a simple thing. And I’ve seen there is roughly 100mm of clearance for rads/fans there as well. Can you confirm/deny that measurement? Thanks a lot for your work on this video:)

With this kind of niche market, you only win if you dramatically perform better. By like 90%. This case looks horrible to me visually, but will definitely be liked by others. I've had my 1000D for a while, and even though it is far from perfect, I'd have no reason to switch to this. Yes, maintenance is a pain in the back and cleaning the glass makes me want to ACTUALLY eat glass...But once you've cleaned it, the 1000D is the best looking case in the market to me. I wouldn't give it up. I think CoolerMaster did fine with it, but it's a niche market. And in a niche market, personal taste and utmost performance prevails over anything else. I paid 400 bucks for my 1000D, and it's the best 400 bucks I'll have ever spent on a PC case. Probably till the day I'm not here anymore. Good review.
@kendragon2827 Жыл бұрын
I know this is old, but I prefer the coolermaster HAF 700 berserker which I have over my Corsair 1000D which I am selling, lol. Great build, great review, interesting case. Thank you. I think you and I have different interpretations of toolless. I agree with you that I would like to see more for £500 - $1 = £1, remember, thanks to VAT. Included fans, and snap clips and mounts for the motherboard and fans for starters. You mentioned that the front fans are 200mm: can you mount a dual 200mm radiator behind them? And are the front fans sufficient to cool it? While I would have liked to see you show the benefit of the extra slot plate by using a Threadripper build with the GPU in the bottom fully x16 slot I realise you have only so much time. Please don't go into that Patreon stuff halfway through the video. I almost assumed it was the end of the video and nearly clicked away, nearly missing half the video. PS can you please switch away from saying things like 420mm when you mean triple 140mm and 480mm when you mean quad 120mm (and so on) because there are fans and radiators that are not based around 120mm or 140mm units (Leo has used a dual 180mm radiator in a Torrent build IIRC) and it gives us a better immediate idea since we don't have to do the maths.

For this price I would expect more modularity, such as being being able to do horizontal builds and a full flip left/right build or at least a option to build a mini-ITX build in the power supply compartment.
