If I have 6 of those fans, do I need to connect all 6 fans to a pwm connector? My motherboard only has 2 fan header, 1 is already used for the cpu fan so I'm left with 1 free fan header for 1 of the 2 pwm connectors. Should I buy a pwm hub or is there any other solution?

First need to know which types of pin types used for your RGB fan,, if used 4 pin PWM type,, then you can use PWM hub to extend your fans, let me know please share mother board model then can share proper way to add additional Fan's,

Hello, I saw that there are 3 RGB outputs on the controller, I have 9 fans like this, could I connect 3 to each RGB output on the controller?

Yes, you can. But need RGB hub or PWM splitter cable to connect as parallel mode.

so what is exactly the point of the controller? you can literally just daisy chain argb connectors together like you did to power them up through one cable......
