@@hunterscars01 he said they were better than the cloud alpha's... but after watching this review im not so sure. sometimes audiophiles aint that the best reviewers as they like clear sound more than 5% less clear sound but with good bass. i would gladly have slightly worse sound if it meant having bass. its 2019. these headsets are very expensive even if technically cheap for the market so i just cant tolerate no bass.
@hunterscars015 жыл бұрын
@@wotever99ninynine more and less bass can only go so far tho, most of these "gaming" headsets over do it with the bass and it muddies everything else. Having a lot of bass is fine as long as its controlled and doesn't bleed into the mids. Take for example my Audio-Teachnica M40X's. powered off my phone they can rattle my head with bass, but they are still detailed in the mids and highs. my suggestion is try before you buy i guess.
@byte.me_original5 жыл бұрын
@@wotever99ninynine These are based off of the Takstar Pro 82 headphones, which are marketed as studio monitoring cans, and that's probably why they sound neutral-ish. The only thing that wasn't carried over were Takstar's bass ports. It depends on a person's preference what kind of bass they like. In my case, I like a clean, punchy bass that complements other frequency ranges.

Yep, spot on what you said about these lacking bass for the average consumer. I have the Takstar Pro 82 which is what these are based on and they're essentially a budget studio monitoring headphone and the successor to the Pro 80 which most people have used in the form of the HyperX Cloud 1 and 2. Although on the Pro 82's they come with bass sliders to increase bass for a more "consumer friendly sound" but most audiophiles don't use it as it can muddy the sound, especially with both ports open but I find one port open to be a good balance. Still, these are the most comfortable headphones I've ever used and it's nice Cooler Master is selling a rebranded model since the Pro 82 has to be imported from China.
@badseedtech6 жыл бұрын

The mic sounds really good for the price...way better than HyperX Cloud Alpha :O I heard the sound quality drop a bit and missed the part where you said that we just heard the mic test by accident, so I assumed it was a glitch or something on my end. I decided to rewatch and this time I paid attention to as much detail as possible because I didn't see the mic test, and I was so surprised. This is a headset that is a definite contender to the Logitech G Pro I wanted to get, but was unable to find, and it even has a less obvious logo and is cheaper :D This was a really good review, I thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through :3 Edit: also my eyes kinda lit up I guess, when you said the sound signature was closer to flat, because I am currently using a bass heavier pair of headphones, and using an equalizer software to try to get the highs and mids to be louder than the lows And the USB dac, the mh752's dac may be better than my laptop's motherboard sound, but the mh751 is $35 cheaper, Cooler Master went from "eh this company is okay" in 2016 to "Cooler Master is really good" in 2018, their keyboards are good [but more expensive than Ducky's D:], their mice are also good, they have great mouse pads, and now they have broken through in headsets. Good stuff

The only good rebranded Kingston headsets are the ones that use Takstar Pro80 drivers. The Kingston HyperX Cloud I + II are just a rebranded QPAD QH-90 which is just a rebranded Takstar Pro80 with a microphone. All their other random rebranded generic headsets and in-house drivers are just not as good. They also now have the HyperX Cloud Orbit S which uses planar magnetic Audeze Mobius drivers. The Cooler Master MH751 or 752 as just a rebranded Takstar Pro82 (wider soundstage/deeper cup) with a microphone, and the Takstar Pro82 is a better headphone then the Takstar Pro80. Also worth nothing the Takstar pro82 have bass sliders so you can adjust the bass on the fly. With the sliders fully open they really thump. No idea why Cooler Master removed them.

Thanks a lot for the review! this headset looks great, Between this and the Arctis 5 2019 which would you recommend? I'm looking for something really good to play overwatch and battle royals, but also for music sometimes, and that can be taken outside without weird looks. I'm having a really tough time trying to buy a really good headset between 100 and 150 dollars ( trying to get the most value without overpaying)
@badseedtech5 жыл бұрын
Just depends on how you like your music. If you like a lot of bass neither are good options - if its not super-important to you - get the Cooler Master.
@davidandresvasquezmarin5 жыл бұрын
@@badseedtech Thanks a lot ! and Between the Cooler Master and the HyperX Alpha? is still better the CM ? the bass is not super important, in fact i don't like headphones that exaggerate the bass.
@davidandresvasquezmarin5 жыл бұрын
@@badseedtech I couldn't resist the tempation, i saw tha Cooler Masters on Amazon at 89 Dollars, the 7.1 Version (probably won't use it much, but is a nice touch to have it for the games that really improve with it), and order it, sadly the shipping is going to take a lot of time, but i'm happy with the buy as they where cheaper than the alphas, but i think bring a little more quality and have a more subtle aspect, thanks again for the response, was key to help me choice.

How does this headset compare to the hyperx cloud alpha
@badseedtech6 жыл бұрын
Alpha has more bass, this has better high end and imaging. This is way more comfortable than the Alpha. Mic and build quality very similar. This particular model has 7.1 but I'd go for the MH751.

Question: do you think the ear cuffs would flake overtime? I've had problems like that in the previous ones i owned
@badseedtech6 жыл бұрын
It DID cross my mind but they feel softer than the pads on like the Audio Technica cans. I have never had pads like this flake on me but I do understand it's an issue. Even my gym headphones have never flaked and I sweat in those like crazy. But some companies like Sennheiser and the new cans from Razer have now stopped using this material.

If leaving your house wearing them is not an issue, I'd personally go GSP 300. They are ugly but sound amazing with a touch more bass.

These or Cloud Alphas? I tried my friend's Cloud Alpha in R6 Siege and was impressed by the soundstage and how well I could hear footsteps. The price is pretty similar where I am at the moment. I know the Alpha has a lot of bass.
@shfqrsln5 жыл бұрын
If you haven't buy any of them. Go for the coolermaster if you want to play alot of fps game. Cloud alpha are bass heavy so the coolermaster are better for hearing footstep.

Ive had a pair of headphones called the Takstar Pro 82, and Coolermaster really ripped the design and materials from that, Im kinda shocked at how much they took from the original design! The only difference I can see is that that they took away the adjustable bass port and added their Logo and a microphone jack. From what you said about the sound; I'm guessing they used the same drivers from Takstar as well because it can be bassy with the bass slider on the pro 82s, when CM removed that slider it ruined the design (probably why they have software to add bass). Personally I'd rather have the bass slider than the microphone and 7.1. Great review man, keep up the good stuff :)

I mean isn't the HyperX cloud 2 based of the Q-Pad 90 that was based off of the Takstar Pro 80? As in not 100% steal, might be a work together thing, or "inspiration"
