Vertical GPU + TG actually viable? Let me know your thoughts. 4:30 - correction, 3-slot cards are not compatible since there are only 2 expansion slots. 2-slot cards are probably ideal here anyway to keep some distance against the panel.

You're right, just 4°C from vertical tg and vertical mesh. But if we think about it, there are 7°C between vertical tg and horizontal mesh, that with modern gpu can easily lead to 200MHz less. I really don't get how people can trade performance for aesthetic.

I was obsessed with tempered glass and RGB for awhile, but ever since I've switched over to SFF PC's, putting so much power into a small case like this is all I need now. RGB is way too expensive and sometimes detrimental to PC performance.

CM really blew it out of the park with this case in terms of both performance AND price. Honestly I no longer see a reason to have to deal with the wait and cost of all the other super popular cases considering how great and cheap this case is. This case has to be the new king in this segment.

Was playing around with my own NR200P and CM ML240L V2. I had it originally in the traditional side mount, but tested a bottom mount last weekend. It was clearly more audible in that configuration. Not super loud, but there was a noticeable hum coming from the pump. In its side mount, it's practically inaudible. And a vertical GPU isn't really the most space-optimized layout anyway. You sacrifice a ton (no rear fan, no 3.5" HDD, potential interference with top fan, no dedicated pump/res for custom loop) just for having a better view of the GPU. That's the only real issue I have with the case. I hope CM expand further on this case with some sort of top-hat add-on that allows users to mount a rad up top. You only need a 2mm extra clearance to squeeze in a slim 20mm rad and slim 15mm fans. So if a top-hat added 5mm of extra clearance, it would be perfect. The plastic honeycomb design does feel strong enough to support the weight of that at least.

The only minor trade off I can see going with the NR200 over the TU150 is being limited to 153mm CPU cooler height whereas the TU150 will take anything. However, the better airflow might make going with a smaller CPU cooler a trade off. It's a shame how close the NR200 just misses being able to fit Fuma 2, Dark Rock 4, and the others. Not sure how many air coolers better than the U9S will fit in both mesh/window configurations.

I bet GPU exhaust so close to the tower could severely hamper the efficacy of any tower air cooler in this config. Top fans as intake, feeding an exhaust direction U12a, plus 92mm exhaust fan might be better though (not sure how he tested it). Best considering cpu only might be to funnel air directly to the cooler via a duct to the rear, or using a 92mm fan (if it fits) to feed the cooler.
@DontEatCream
@DontEatCream 4 жыл бұрын
@@sheenyen8259 Yeah, I think that's definitely worth a try. Another good idea that I've seen floating around the SFF forums is bottom 120mm slims as intake, 92mm rear fan as intake, reversed CPU tower cooler (so its sucking up cool air from the back), and 2 exhaust fans up top. That might make CPU temps better as well

Great stuff man, thank you. I wonder if putting a GPU waterblock vertical will forfeit the possibility of top exhaust fans (looks that way on the CM website at least). And also if a regular thickness radiator with regular fans would fit below a horizontally mounted GPU waterblock (and if the air can even move around it)... I was looking at powercolor Red Devil or Sapphire Nitro+ and before coming across your video my only option was Silverstone RV01-E with some modifications and without case fans for GPU which would create thermal issues and defeats the purpose of high end gaming PC. While I love small ITX format, they all seem to max out at 2 slot card or you have to compromise CPU cooler, thats where this is a great ITX case for someone like myself looking for small factor without any compromises and future proof at the same time.

Here in Sweden only the NR200P will be sold to the DIY market according to a CM employee and the NR200 will be sold to companies making pre-builts. He did say companies could choose to contact them if they want to purchase the NR200 for sale to DIY as well and they would be open to dialogue. So far however only 1 Swedish retailer have the NR200P up for pre-order and the NR200 is nowhere to be found. Sucks to have to get the NR200P when I won't use the extra accessories or the fans but this case is far too interesting to pass on and purchasing internationally is something I try to avoid due to Swedens pro-consumer laws.

I wish they offered an option that includes everything - mesh panel, glass panel and riser cable - for an appropriate price increase.

Isn't that exactly what the NR200P is? Comes with both side panel options as well as the riser, and two exhaust fans for only $20 more!

I will never understand People who use vertical GPU along with sidepanels without any perforation. To me vertical mounting is excellent way to fix the downside of non-blower GPU coolers where hot air flow is blocked by motherboard on one side of gpu. In v-mounting GPU gets direct access to cool air through perforation on side panels and hot air has free way to go out on both sides of GPU. Blocking fresh air access just have clear view for leds and GPU is just pure insanity!

Does anybody know what sleeved cabled does he use for power supply? I have same PSU and stock cables are horrible but I could find a replacement for it (as it has 16+10pin motherboard separate connector pins). Can anybody help?

I'm very curious on how you are going to do a hard line loop in this case, cannot wait for that video! I do wish though that there was an option to put the rad up top, the EK Phoenix serious is not suppose to be put on the bottom like that. I will have to go with the traditional set up to use those rads..

Seems like for full air cooled build a C14s or even Wraith Spire would be better for airflow. Top down would work in conjunction with the top fans exhausting.

I feel like Cooler Master is trying to pull a fast one. They were just testing the waters to see the demand. It was even $60 on the amazon link that you had before. The only way I am buying this case is if it goes back down to the original price.

For vertical mounting of a GPU, is the Noctua NH-L12S a viable option for CPU cooling with fans in the bottom and top of the case? Keep up the great videos!

really great channel certainly the best SFF know-how out there and great video quality. I am floating maybe a silly idea which is to shrink my MATX rig with a VEGA64 LC (120mm rad) and Ryzen also watercooled with an IDcooling Frost flow AIO(240mm rad) into this great little case. But I am struggling to assess a robust "How and where placing the Rads?". was thinking about teh CPU rad at the bottom and the GPU rad at the top in pull config but afraid the latter will clash with either Motherboard or the PSU cage. I cant think about any Option that would work but if people here have recommendations, its much appreciated. thanks so much

After watching Gamer Nexus video on bad rad placement, he said best not to mount rad at the bottom due to air being trapped at the CPU end which reduces thermal performance. What are your thoughts o this?

The pre-order only allows PCI-E riser to be bundled with glass lid, but I think the riser would definitely way better to pair with vented panel in term of thermal.

And why the f*ck would you run vertical GPU if you can't see it? You can just mount it bottom for best airflow and forget about it..

The NR200P and the NZXT H1 are the best ITX cases in my opinion. They are cheaper and more mainstream. You are less likely to have stock issues too. They are also cheap. Sure, the H1 is $350, but it comes with a PSU and a Watercooler.

Surely by running the vented panel you could run a full negative pressure setup very similar to the sliger SM580, which shiuld produce very impressive thermal results
