You're right, just 4°C from vertical tg and vertical mesh. But if we think about it, there are 7°C between vertical tg and horizontal mesh, that with modern gpu can easily lead to 200MHz less. I really don't get how people can trade performance for aesthetic.

CM really blew it out of the park with this case in terms of both performance AND price. Honestly I no longer see a reason to have to deal with the wait and cost of all the other super popular cases considering how great and cheap this case is. This case has to be the new king in this segment.
@STR33TSofJUST1C33 жыл бұрын
Was playing around with my own NR200P and CM ML240L V2. I had it originally in the traditional side mount, but tested a bottom mount last weekend. It was clearly more audible in that configuration. Not super loud, but there was a noticeable hum coming from the pump. In its side mount, it's practically inaudible. And a vertical GPU isn't really the most space-optimized layout anyway. You sacrifice a ton (no rear fan, no 3.5" HDD, potential interference with top fan, no dedicated pump/res for custom loop) just for having a better view of the GPU. That's the only real issue I have with the case. I hope CM expand further on this case with some sort of top-hat add-on that allows users to mount a rad up top. You only need a 2mm extra clearance to squeeze in a slim 20mm rad and slim 15mm fans. So if a top-hat added 5mm of extra clearance, it would be perfect. The plastic honeycomb design does feel strong enough to support the weight of that at least.

The only minor trade off I can see going with the NR200 over the TU150 is being limited to 153mm CPU cooler height whereas the TU150 will take anything. I bet GPU exhaust so close to the tower could severely hamper the efficacy of any tower air cooler in this config. Top fans as intake, feeding an exhaust direction U12a, plus 92mm exhaust fan might be better though (not sure how he tested it). Best considering cpu only might be to funnel air directly to the cooler via a duct to the rear, or using a 92mm fan (if it fits) to feed the cooler.
@DontEatCream4 жыл бұрын
@@sheenyen8259 Yeah, I think that's definitely worth a try. Another good idea that I've seen floating around the SFF forums is bottom 120mm slims as intake, 92mm rear fan as intake, reversed CPU tower cooler (so its sucking up cool air from the back), and 2 exhaust fans up top. That might make CPU temps better as well

To me vertical mounting is excellent way to fix the downside of non-blower GPU coolers where hot air flow is blocked by motherboard on one side of gpu. In v-mounting GPU gets direct access to cool air through perforation on side panels and hot air has free way to go out on both sides of GPU. For vertical mounting of a GPU, is the Noctua NH-L12S a viable option for CPU cooling with fans in the bottom and top of the case? Keep up the great videos!

I’m somewhat miffed that this is about the same size as the Cerberus and not a little closer to the SM570. Ultimate Cosmic Power, itty-bitty living space!

really great channel certainly the best SFF know-how out there and great video quality. I am floating maybe a silly idea which is to shrink my MATX rig with a VEGA64 LC (120mm rad) and Ryzen also watercooled with an IDcooling Frost flow AIO(240mm rad) into this great little case. But I am struggling to assess a robust "How and where placing the Rads?". was thinking about teh CPU rad at the bottom and the GPU rad at the top in pull config but afraid the latter will clash with either Motherboard or the PSU cage. I cant think about any Option that would work but if people here have recommendations, its much appreciated. thanks so much

After watching Gamer Nexus video on bad rad placement, he said best not to mount rad at the bottom due to air being trapped at the CPU end which reduces thermal performance. What are your thoughts o this?

Really interested to see your custom loop for inspiration!

Would LOVE to see you build a custom loop in this case!

The pre-order only allows PCI-E riser to be bundled with glass lid, but I think the riser would definitely way better to pair with vented panel in term of thermal.

And why the f*ck would you run vertical GPU if you can't see it? You can just mount it bottom for best airflow and forget about it..

The NR200P and the NZXT H1 are the best ITX cases in my opinion. They are cheaper and more mainstream. You are less likely to have stock issues too. They are also cheap. Sure, the H1 is $350, but it comes with a PSU and a Watercooler.

Surely by running the vented panel you could run a full negative pressure setup very similar to the sliger SM580, which shiuld produce very impressive thermal results
