You know i always see people bragging about how quick their bike stops bouncing, but to me thats a bad bike, means suspension is way wrong for when you throw and extra 180lbs of person on and actually hit a bump.
@strictlykev3114 ай бұрын
It'll be bouncier with more weight on it, this is showing how stiff they can be while still absorbing impact.. if it was bouncy a heavy person would sink it down even more
@floreschris55744 ай бұрын
It cam get bouncy with a flick of a switch. When you want to go fast, you make the suspension stiff, so your peddling power isn't absorbed by the suspension . When you want to go downhill, you just flick the switch, and you have traditional tremendous suspension.
@jamesharris51564 ай бұрын
This isn’t a WalMart bike man, the suspension is a little more advanced.
@hugoguadarrama57514 ай бұрын
No it's actually the same idea behind the helmet design it looks like. Helmets crack after absorbing the hit instead of bouncing. The bounce is the counter effect of the hit and at high speed collision you don't want a bounce back. I guess same idea behind the no bounce on this bike
@lucky7s944 ай бұрын
Just because it is stiff does not mean throwing 180lbs on it will make it necessarily bouncy or ride terrible. Spring rate and absorption rate are two different things but go hand in hand if the combo is right. It's more or less stiff because of dampening stiffness... not spring pressure. It was the most beautiful free ride bike you had ever seen.It took every thing I could throw at it for almost 17 years. Id jump it off roofs to a flat landing no problem. Every time id mis judge a jump and over shoot or come up short it would eat every mistake for breakfast and turn every failure in to a sucksess .finally something I did every day on my way to work coming down an overpass using 15 stairs as a launch over a walkway 15foot wide to land down a slope for some loading docks. Had to break check to avoid car coming of the freeway. When I got to the stairs I knew I had scrubbed to much speed to clear the walk way. With no way to abort was already comited to the send. As I launched off the top step I threw the bike as far as I could stretch to make the landing. I camel backed it straddleing with one tire on the walkway the other tire on the loading dock landing. Snap went the mono cock pivot point. I have never owned or riddin a bike cince that has given me the fearlessness that that bike gave me. I miss it terribly

Little something we riders call rebound dampening. If you ride motorcycles, and have an issue on corner entry and mid corner stability chances are you need to add a few clicks of rebound dampening front and rear. Back off the Compression a tad and make sure you set the static sag to your actual body weight. This is all provided you don’t have crap suspension by the way.

That's awesome! My brother in law had some Santa Cruz bike like that. 8 piston brakes. I rode it down a large hill, felt like sitting on a sofa.

That suspension is set up perfect as long as there is no rider on the bike.

Any air shocks with rebound settings and low enough air pressure in the tires can do this with no load. Nice fat rubber helps, also. Tires are still the most shock absorbing component of a bicycle.
